Course Curriculum Overview
The course is well structured with the syllabus designed very nicely and meeting the MAKAUT standards. The 4 years academic journey prepares the upcoming engineers for the challenges ahead by providing teaching of current and new generation technologies. The college regularly takes exams to keep the students connected to the academislcs. There are around 4 surprise tests in each semester for each subject and a Final End sem exam with the difficulty level ranging from moderate to high.
Internships Opportunities
Companies don't visit the campus for hiring interns. However if one manages to get an internship offcampus, the college supports the student and helps in managing academics. But college doesn't provide any internship opportunities
Placement Experience
The placements are decent with average package being 5 lacs. Highest for 2024 has been 12 lacs till now. Most students get placed at TCS and other mass recruiters. Students from 6th semester are eligible for placements. Companies like Tejas Network (10 lpa) , Cozeva (12 lpa), TCS (9 lpa, 7.5 lpa, 4.5 lpa), Mindsprint(5.5 lpa) PWC, EY etc. visit the campus and around 80% students get placed. I am placed at Tejas Networks so i will be joining the company after degree
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for the 2020-2024 batch was around 3,64,000 which has increased every year. Semester fee varies between 42k to 48k. The cost of staying in or around the college would range from 7000 to 10000 depending on standard of living and living in pg Or hostel Or flat. Scholarship schemes from the government are supported. No such campus employment as per my experience. The total cost of education would range somewhere around 7 lacs to 10 lacs
Campus Life
Multiple technical fests are organised but not on a grand stage as we see in big colleges. Although events keep happening throughout the year. The library is excellent and sufficient for everyone. It has books and computer access. Classrooms are decent sized. Few even has ACs. All the labs are well maintained and air conditioned. Sports in the college are more than expected. Cricket, football, archery etc. is played at a great level. Coaches, equipment, grounds etc are all provided. Multiple clubs are there including fashion, NSS, sports etc. are there and are quite active
Admission
Admission is mainly through WBJEE which is an entrance exam conducted for all the engineering colleges in West Bengal. The cutoff for HITK is generally high with the CS cut-off being around 4k-5k rank. Student can apply for WBJEE from their website which is generally in Nov - Dec and exam is conducted in March - April. Counselling process is quite simple and convenient. The exam is conducted once a year. Apart from WBJEE, the college also gives admission through JEE mains rank and also has a MANAGEMENT QUOTA .
