Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am into Fashion and Apparel Technology. It is a nice branch. It focuses on Technology used in Fashion and Apparel line. It covers all the required syllabus but lacks in exposure. Practicality is not much under the torch. A number of projects can be done and are supported by the college. Apart from this branch, there are a lot of other options too, like Electrical engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, etc.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships to the students in the final year. In some branches, the students are sent to work and experience the industry for a semester. The companies are very cooperative and helpful. The project reports are submitted thereafter. The stipend ranges from 1000- 7000 per month. The internships are generally based on the core of the branch and they help out a lot in practicality and experience.

Placement Experience

4

The placement scenario is above average in this college. Being located in a smart city, a good number of companies approach the college. A nice percentage of students get placed on-campus. A large number of students apply for off-campus as well. Big companies like Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, Arvind, etc. and mass companies like Accenture, TCS, etc. visit the campus. The average package for the college lies between ?3 lakh- ?10 lakh.

College Events

3.5

The college organises 3 fests per year. There are a Technical fest, a Cultural fest and a Civil fest. The fests are conducted pretty well and smoothly. A huge crowd gathers and the ambience is awesome. Students from colleges all over the city and state visit and the field and auditorium host a large flock of people. The college authority contributes significantly and funds a certain amount for them. There are star nights, EDM nights and DJ nights for the evening shows and a lot of events for the mornings and afternoons.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is pretty affordable. The fees are good enough for a middle class family. Since the College is run and funded by the State government, the amount to be paid is mediocre. There are umpteen number of scholarships available, like Medhabruti, Prerna, etc for the economically challenged candidates. Also, scholarships are awarded as per merit.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships available, like Medhabruti, Prerna, etc for the Tuition fee waiver students. Also, scholarships are awarded for the meritorious students. The college has a tie-up with Syndicate bank and helps in opening an account in it and also, provides some loans. The economically-low students get benefitted and are provided with help and support. It is a nice initiative taken by the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 2 hostels each for boys and girls. The hostels are big and clean with proper WiFi facility. The fees are pretty affordable and the food in the mess is claimed to be good and healthy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Each room is occupied by 3-4 students. There are common rooms at each floor. The college also has some hostels outside the college campus.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni interaction is pretty good. Student-alumni meetings and get-togethers are arranged in some branches every year. The college acknowledges the alumni and ensures their benign presence and support throughout. They help and contribute in terms of placement, internships, training, fundings, services, and offerings. The students may also seek for their help in their academics and career. The alumni extend their hands in the college development too.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is pretty experienced. The teachers are supportive. They go beyond the syllabus. They are qualified and learned. The professors are great to get your doubts cleared. They are approachable and friendly. A syllabus is fixed by the University and the college sticks to that basically. The lab instructors are very understanding and cooperative. They help a lot with the experiments and assignments. The labs are fun and interesting due to them.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
