Entrance Preview

Being a part of Lady Shri Ram College for Women is every girl's dream. Be it for Arts or Commerce, this college is ranked the best in all of India. And in my opinion, rightly so. LSR is not just a college, it is an experience. It is an experience which people cherish for all their lives. Being in this college would changes you, intellectually, academically and socially. For anyone considering this as an option, I'd say GO FOR IT!

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum of B.Com Honours is perfectly suitable for anyone wishing to pursue M.Com or CA in the future. The first semester subjects are Business Law, Financial Accounting, an Ability Enhancement Credit Course, and a Generic Elective. AECC is either EVS or Communication English, depending on the semester.

Internships Opportunities

Lady Shri Ram College for Women has had excellent internship opportunities with companies like McKenzie. Internship are paid as well as unpaid. And the seniors have described the experience as great.

Placement Experience

5

Lady Shri Ram College for Women has had excellent placement and job opportunities with companies like McKenzie, banks, and other differences. The highest package last year was Rupees thirteen lakhs per annum! The college has especially good opprtunities for students of the Commerce Department.

College Events

5

Starting with the best, TARANG!! The annual college fest of Lady Shri Ram College for Women is a much awaited event for not just the students of LSR but for ALL the other students of ALL the other colleges as well. We have performances and competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Compared to any private college offering the same course, Lady Shri Ram College for Women is very reasonable when it comes to the fee structure. Also, for people belonging to the Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Disabilities, etc., the college offers extra concessions.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know about any good scholarship / loan facility offered by Lady Shri Ram College for Women.

Campus Life

5

Campus life: Splendid. Gender ratio: All girls college. Diversity: Excellent. We have students from all parts of India as well as other countries. Extra curricular activities: The college Dramatics Society is the best in all of Delhi University and has won multiple competitions.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is located in splendid premises and the food is said to be very good as well. However, the hostel has VERY limited vacancies. Approximately, only 3 people per course get the hostel. So that is very inconvenient. Also, the hostel rooms neither ACs nor collars.

Alumni/Alumna

The best thing about LSR is the most wonderful seniors we have here. They'll always be there to help you out, answer any question you may have, lend you books, and whatever else you require.

Exam Structure

The exam structure of Lady Shri Ram College for Women is the same as that of every other college in Delhi University. External exams and internal assessments together form the results of the students. The external exams are not checked by the teaching faculty, but instead by teachers of other colleges of Delhi University.

Admission

LSR, like all the colleges of DU, strictly follows the Merit Lists for admission in B.Com Honours. The process is very simple. If you fall in the particular cut off, you need to apply in the college online using the DU portal and then reach the college with the required documents and their photocopies. As long as your percentage lies in the cutoff, you shall get the admission. There is no first come, first serve basis.

Faculty

4.5

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) has highly qualified teachers. Some teachers are alumni of the college itself and hence they understand the students and their problems well. The college has different teachers for different subjects which keeps the students interested in the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
