Entrance Preview

I took Kerala engineering entrance i got 2000 rank. Basically i loved engineering. But which course was the question after 12th. But i was really interested towards the electrical so chosed the same.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is extreamely good. The subjects were good to make a theoretical understanding in the field. But there should be some practical oriented training or compulsory internships to be added in the curriculam. Thats really lacking in kerala university curriculam.

Internships Opportunities

I did an intership at BHEL EML,kasargod for 1 week. It was really a nice experience to visit and study the functioning of such a massive production unit for general purpose alternators. Learnt the basic principles of brushless alternators from there.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunites are medium. All most all recruiters are software companies. In my batch the overall placement was around 60%. Very few core companies like SPCL,L&T etc.

College Events

We had a massive tech fest named TEZORO. This was a huge success. The participation was massive. As a part of this we arranged an all kerala program called light up kerala at the same time in 14 districts of kerala.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have got central sector scholorship 10000 per year.

Campus Life

It was the best time in my life. Always missing that awsome days. Have got lot of real friends in my life.

Hostel Facilities

We had mainly 4 boys hostels as college hostels. The facilies in hostels very good. The food was also awsome for the first 2 years. But we got really fed up with hostel food.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of the college is very strong. Almost all top class engineers working in Kseb etc are our almni. But the alumni support in placements is not that good.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

From 6th semester onwards students are eligible for internship and placement opportunities. Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Remarks:

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.

Crack keam exam with a decent score. Good rank should be secured. Mininum 50 percentage mark in physics chemistry and maths.
