It has not been quite wonderful

The courses in B. Tech are good and actually have quite a lot of highly experienced faculty. The college is actually somewhat isolated from urban life, so it actually creates some problems in terms of exposure, however, the environment is good for studies. There are several practical lessons for the engineering students

Internships are provided but they are done by the students submitting portfolios to different companies and firms. The stipend depends upon the company or firm where the student is enrolled. I have done my internship from Mumbai and Prague and the experience has been wonderful.

Placements come from a large number of companies all over India. Even the Army and Navy come for placements. Microwave, Huawei etc have come up for placements and have also recruited students. Packages start from around Rs. 25,000/-. Every year, there is almost 100% placement of the students.

there are a large number of fests that are held in the campus. every department has its own fest in the college and there is an annual fest for the overall college students. a one day fest is also held for the freshers. students from all batches and branches show up together for these fests.

The fees that I paid was Rs. 66,200/- a year. However, it incremented for my juniors. The current academic fees for my juniors is around Rs. 1, 30,000/-. Exact details of the fee structure is available in the college website. Apart from the tuition fees, the students have to pay the mess and hostel fees compulsorily.

The scholarships are provided for the students based on their merit. any student who earns a SGPA of 8.5 and above are refunded the full tuition fee of the semester. also, rank holders in the entrance examination are provided scholarships. apart from these, students are paid for examinations or any performances they are involved in as a representative of the college.

The college is fully residential. So, everyone has to take rooms in the hostels. They may be singlets, duplets or triplets. Depending upon the choice of the students and the availability, any room can be taken. Hostels are wonderful with good facilities of laundry, sports, reading room etc. The caretakers and wardens of hostels are cooperative. Since teachers also reside inside the campus, it is a boon for the students as they can visit them at any time. It also fosters the living culture of the college.

There are alumni meets in the college time and again. the alumni has also stayed in touch with the current students via social networking sites and it has been a great strength. alumni members having their own companies also generally recruit students from the college. the relations with the recently passed out alumni is wonderful

The faculty in the department of engineering is highly qualified and experienced. There are professors, associate professors and assistant professors along with lab assistant and guides who are experienced and skilled. Learning is fun in SMVDU. Even the senior students have a lot of guidance to offer.
