Course Curriculum Overview

Bachelor of Commerce is a course that is mostly pursued by students who want to make a career in Accounting and finance. Pretty diverse curriculum. Exams are held semester wise that include internals and semester end exams

Class Size: 130Course Fees: INR 3000 per year

Internships Opportunities

College arranges internships with some companies for final year students. This includes firms, corporate and non government organisation. Salaries and stipends offered are decent and vary from company to company

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees for 1st semester is approximately 3500 rs. Scholarships are available like SVCMS and other. Students are given financial aid along with relaxation in transportation cost (train). SVCMS scholarship provides a total amount of 12000rs

Campus Life

Campus life is above average. College library has vast collection of books. Some annual events are held along with sports day and inter college sports. College infrastructure is average but rooms are pretty big

Admission

Admission process is fairly simple. No entrance exam required. Application Process began in July. Eligibility criteria: minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. Online application process will be initiated by college and candidates will get to find their names in Merit lists

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

I Didn't take any admission test, process is easy Just type in ur documents and wait for the list and then it is done. For me personally my nake came in the second list As I was not a SC/ST/OBC student But students who scored lesser than me were selected in the first list...Read More
