My College

I was interested in the IT field so I opted for this course. Even though IT and CS have similar curricula, the cutoff for CS is very high compared to IT. So I got the admission for IT. The curriculum needs to improve a lot in the aspects of real-world applications. Students gain less experience from college inorder to work in the industry.

Different scholarships are available. Central and state scholarships are provided. Reserved categories get consideration and their fees are less. The average college fee for a year is 10000 and the hostel fee is 40000. E grantz is a state scholarship provided which minimizes the fee and also gives an amount to students depending on which year the student is studying. Other central scholarships are the MCM scholarship giving 16000, the Central sector scholarship giving 10000, and the Pragati scholarship giving 50000. These scholarships help students to pay for their tuition and hostel fees.

Our college has different programs in terms of arts, technical, etc. The arts fest Daksha and the college fest Invento have been a big success over the past years. The library is accessible with different books concerning almost all types of topics we need to study during our course. All classrooms are smartly oriented and have working projectors. The student's active participation is ensured in the sports and extracurricular activities. Our college has an actively working SHE cell for girls.

The criteria checked for admission in a college hostel are distance, the income of the family, and CGPA of the last semester. I am staying at a private hostel since I couldn't get into the college hostel. The food provided here is okay and the facilities are also good. It's 1.5 km far from the hostel. Sometimes we have to walk to get to the college. Also, the college bus goes through the route so we can also come and go on the bus.

I got admission through KEAM entrance exam. I was interested in taking Computer Science but due to the cutoff, I didn't get it. My rank was 11000. I opted for Information Technology. The admission was done offline. It took almost half a day to complete the admission process. After I was confirmed for the seat, I visited the principal who introduced me to the college rules and how engineering will be.
