Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum that I'm currently studying is 2019 scheme under KTU. During the school time itself I had an interest in the technological areas so I chosen the engineering degree to chase my dreams. For that I had chosen the best college in the areas of IT as Government Engineering College Barton Hill. It's a centre of higher learning platform that nurtures inquisitive young minds, fosters their innovative research and enhelps to reach out the society by moulding the professionalism inside us. They helps us to collaborate with Industry and enhances academic areas as well. In academic basis each semester is 6 month duration with one main university exam and 2 series exam each. Marks are also taken under consideration for assignments, tutorials, projects etc. They also provide us with Industrial visit in near by companies, ensures talkative sections with professionals and also internship opportunities.
Internships Opportunities
Internship program is the best thing for students to change their theoretical knowledge that get from class by different course into practical knowledge and to face the real world situation before taking a serious commitment. During my internship period for a 30 days working section at NANO MINDZ in 3 specific domains namely software development, website design & development and Information services. They also offered in building e commerce solutions, search engine optimization and database administration services.
Placement Experience
Campus Palcements are available in our college which starts from 7 th semester onwards. The Career Guidance & Placement Unit (CGPU) committee comprises of the Principal, the Coordinator, Faculty Members and Student representatives. The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) of the college actively organizes campus recruitments and training programmes for students. The CGPU also focuses on developing industry-readiness in the students. Placement-oriented training as well as training programs on other technical and non-technical topics are organized on a regular basis. Continual motivation and support is provided forstudents interested in pursuing higher studies as well as for those aspiring to enter the Civil Services and other such careers.Placement recruites are IBS, Infosys, Dell,Vipro,Bosch, Amazon, Tata, Keltron, Quest etc. Total offers are 500 last year which has average package of 3.5 to 4 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
We have a sem fees of around 10,000 which includes the university fees, exam fees and college fees. Fee concessions are given for SC, ST, OBC, EBW students through EGrantzz scholarship. SC/ST are given total fee concession whereas OBC, EBW students have to pay the fees but they get a scholarship amount of around 6000.MCM scholarship are also available here. As this is a government college, most students are economically medium level so the hike in fees at times affect them adversely. At the time of admission , college make us pay for Bus fees, PTA Fees, Alumi... And all, these are all unnecessary fees which are not refunded. The university too at times provide a deadline for fee payment which makes it discomfortable for economicaly low students. In campus I have taken the role of event head of various CSI events .
Campus Life
The college is quite well in conducting activities both curricular and extra curricular. We have arts festival SARGAM which is interdepartmental and increase the competitive mind inside us in chasing the trophy. AAGNEYA is our technical fest which is a 3 day event including pro show, musical night, flea market, performance of various famous singers and DJs. AAGNEYA also include technical events too like workshops in all departments like Cyber security, Automobile, Robotics, machine learning, Computing etc. This also provides activity points for us. Moreover it's a must experience in college life. Sports day is a 2 day event includes all sports items. We have a college library which have an average if 5000 books available for all departments and other reading books as well. Our college runs various groups like CSI, IEEE, ASME which all are technical based. VELICHAM is our social group which enables the meeting with children in orphanage.
