Infrastructure, campus, cleanliness around

Dislikes

Hostel rules, gate rules, girls aren't allowed outside after 8:30 however boys are. After 9:30 gates are closed of girls hostel, leave application takes too much time
Food quality is very bad in hostels. Complaints do not work.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are labs and high level equipment in the laboratory. There are 6 departments for engineering each have their own building. There are 4 exams in one semester. 2 sessional tests and 1 midterm and 1 endterm making it very hectic for students

Internships Opportunities

Internship without stipend IITs, APDCL, APGCL, NAPCO. You have to find internship on your own. Placement cell does not do anything or help in finding internships. You can do online internship in internshala.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placement in their 7th semester for engineering. About 7-8 companies visited and average package is 350000. Highest package- 800000 (it took only 1 student) About 15-20% students get placed. I'm planning for appearing for govt job after degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year fees is 53886. The hostel fees is 7000. Scholarships are provided to those who applied through NSP- ishan uday, merit cum means minority scholarship, pragati, etc. Mess fees vary from hostel to hostel, 2000-3500/month

Campus Life

The infrastructure is good. Annual festivities such as inscignis take place. Techxetra however hasn't happened in 7 years. Annual week for sports. Fests start by 8:30pm and get over by 10pm. Only local artists are invited.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel fees is around 2000-3500/month depending on which hostel you're alloted to. The rooms are decent for 2 people. However the food quality provided is very bad. It is not maintained by the people in charge. No supervision is done. For girls intime is 9:30pm. Boys can roam around all night. Also girls have to take leave from local guardian, hod and dean to go for home.

Hostel Fee: INR 7000 per year

Admission

Class 12th pass, or diploma holder. Application form is available is website tezu.ernet.in, no application fees required, dates are mentioned in brochures available in website. Reservation are applicable. Admissions are taken through JEE mains results, NE quota is applicable for north east students.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year . A look at TU for MBA program

TU is a central government university and the ambience is majestic out here. I personally like the university very much as it creates such a bond, you would have memories forever.
