Likes

Hostel facility and lodging facilities for guests.
Campus facility and infrastructure for recreation
Vehicle parking and garage facility for visitors

Dislikes

Food. Food is not good enough for people from other parts of India
Traveling to University is a hassle due to lack of nearby railway station
Amenities is bad around the campus and you can't get much facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is pretty standard and up to the mark as per UGC guidelines. The engineering curriculum is particularly standard and can prepare you well for life ahead. The faculty is good enough but there's a lack of faculty in terms on quantity. Overall it's mediocre overall.

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 58936 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There a scholarship available for sc, st and bpl students even in mess and admission. The process is simple and overall easy to finish. The fees isn't too high and is appropriately priced according to me.

Campus Life

Campus life is decent enough with enough people to enjoy with and have fun. There's lack of proper clubs and social events but overall everything is good enough to enjoy life. Also there are many good places to visit nearby so it's good for recreation.

Admission

Fairly simple admission process through JOSSA . It was completely online and everything was simple. The jossa centralised counselling was easy to finish and college onboarding was fairly simple even during the COVID era.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

A calm and disciplined campus life at JIST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year . A look at TU for MBA program

TU is a central government university and the ambience is majestic out here. I personally like the university very much as it creates such a bond, you would have memories forever. I gave MAT exam before filling the application form. The fee is around 1000 rupees. The university is ranked 46 by NIRF in 2021 so to get a degree from here is always a plus in life.
