- Campus life :Cet offers you the best college life. Even non keralites are enjoying the campus life in CET. Be it the faculty, the students, everyone is making your life better.
- Placement : CET is one among the three colleges in Kerala that is included in NIRF ranking. Hence CET offers the best placements. The college also provide pre placement training programs where talk sessions from alumnis are conducted
- Technical Library : The technical library has a large collection of books, journals, periodicals, records etc. Also e-library is launched where in student can access the resources from anywhere. Also the library is working from 9 am to 9 pm
Dislikes
- Lab Facilities: Even though CET has different workshops and laboratories and though they are equipped with almost all facilities, the accuracy of test results are not ensured due to lack of proper maintenance
Course Curriculum Overview
Civil engineering is a course that connects you with normal people. Civil engineering offers oppurtunities to improve the quality of life of communities and address various challenges.The curriculum mainly focuses on the designing and construction part giving importance to each subfields including geotechnical, structural, hydraulics , environmental engineering etc. After completing bachelors n civil engineering, one will be able to solve basic design problems or suggest improvement methods. The one main problem with the curriculum is that it covers vast topic but doesnot cover important topics deeply. One will be able to get only the basic ideas by covering syllabus.Each semester will be of duration 4-5 months. There will be two internal exams on each semester. A suggestion for improving teaching is providing extra hours for drawings
Internships Opportunities
Students can pursue internships from the second year onwards. The college provides internship leave for a period of one month and if needed additional leaves are granted.Internships can be done at IITS, NITS, VSSC, IIST, ULCCS etc by applying through their portals.
Placement Experience
The placement procedure starts from the sixth semester. Before entering into placement, the college conducts a one week placement training program that enables students to face the placement effectively. Over the last five years, more than 1500+ students got placed in 200+ companies with 2200+ offers with an highest package of 33lpa. There is an average package of 6-10lpa.Some of the major recruiters includes BOSCH, AIR INDIA, AG&P, L&T,HAVELS, SAINT GOBAIN,SOBHA CONSTRUCTIONS etc. There is placement room equiped with 4 interview rooms and 2 GD rooms.Over 500+ alumnis contributed to the sucees of Chandrayan mission. The placement trend varies each year.Even if one does not make a placement, he/she have various other oppurtunities for higher studies
Fees and Financial Aid
During the time of admission, a payment of Rs.9650 should be made to CEE for confirming the seat.The tuition fee for each semester will be around 5-6k, and an examination fee of 2-3k depending on the number of subjects. Various number of scholarships are provided for financially backward students, economically weaker sections and for minor communities. One of the major scholarship for minor communities include Egrants providing an average amount of 15k per semester.There are lot more scholarships the details of which can be obtained by consulting the college scholarship cell.The college ranks among the top in providing placement oppurtunities. The highest package is 33 lpa.Over the last five years more than 1500+ students in 200+ companies
Campus Life
CET is the perfect place for enjoying your college life. Cet indulge you in various cultural and sports activities. One of the biggest technical fest in India, "Drishti" is of CET, which is conducted in even semesters at the month of April or May. The cultural fest is "Dhwani" which is conducted in May or June. The involvement of each and every cetian is the success if Dhwani and Drishti. The third D, Disha is a techno cultural fest exclusively for first years mentored by the second years. Other than these, each department conducts their own department fest reflecting the department spirit. The technical library,has a large collection of books, journals, reports, periodicals which can be accessed at any time in between 9 am and 9 pm. Each department has their own libraries and the workshops and labs offers almost all required testing apparatus. There are a wide range of technical and cultural student clubs that are under the supervision of faculties. Some of them are : IEEE, ASME etc
Admission
In order to get into CET, we have to clear KEAM entrance exam, that can be attended by 12th pass students. The application fees and procedure is explained in the prospectus in official keam website. Website:www.cee.kerala. gov. in KEAM is conducted once in every year, within the month of April -June. There will be two papers. First paper includes Chemistry and physics. And second paper includes Maths. There is negative marking for every wrong answer. And each right answer gives 4 marks. Cut-off marks varies each year depending on the level of difficulty. The only problem during the admission process was the delay in releasing allotments and there should be a provision for branch transfer after getting into college
