Course Curriculum Overview
The decision to choose this course is to treat patients and cure people from diseases.MBBS curriculum followed is CBME curriculum. This is a continuous assessment process. The curriculum prepares us to be competent in our profession. Theory classes are PowerPoint presentations and practical classes are in the lab. Also, the clinical postings are in the hospital, which is a practical study based on dealing with real patients. The teaching method currently followed in the college is well and good. The college conducts internal exams and a final University exam is to be attended by the students every year after each academic year. The question papers are set under the Kerala University of Health and Science.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee in our college is Rs 25000 per year. The course is a 4.5 year course where the tution fee is to be paid once every year . Other fee includes the hostel fee where the college hostel rent is Rs 50 every month and the establishment fee of Rs 700 monthly. Scholarships are available such as Egrants, Kids of Ex-servicemen, etc. After the 4.5 years once we become house surgeons stipend of around 25000 Rs is awarded every month. Other scholarships for various research for academic excellence are also available.
Campus Life
Various cultural programs are conducted by the college union. Interbatch arts fest, inter-college arts fest, Inter batch sports, and Intercollege sports are conducted every year. Other programs are conducted on special occasions like Onam, Eid, etc. Various medical journals and medical textbooks are available in the college library which is open from 8 am in the morning till 8 pm. The classrooms for conducting theory classes are fully furnished, and air-conditioned. All the lecture halls are with smart boards. sports training for a variety of events is present in the college. Also various clubs such as environment club, and literature clubs are present in the college.
Admission
Admission to government medical colleges is through an All India entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. The entrance exam is conducted every year nationwide on a single day.The exam is in pen and paper mode. The eligibility to apply and appear for the exam is a 50% percentage for Physics Chemistry Biology subjects in the higher secondary level. The application form is released by NTA .Around 18-20 lakh people are appearing every year for the entrance for the nearly 22000 government seats. Multiple choice questions are to be practiced well . A wide number of competitive textbooks are available in the market for practising objective questions.The questions are from Physics,Chemistry and Biology.Once the ranklist is published All India wise and State wise, we can apply for the seats online.
