Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is like in between (some of the courses are updated and some are years old) but yes it is similar to what taught in most of the college. In my point of view ,course doesn't matter much as you have to study by yourself to grab the current relevant opportunities and a lot of people in colleges are invested in this and seniors are also quite friendly and understanding. So ,I think you can learn a lot here if you are an active person. In initial years( first and second) you can learn through curriculum and teachers are also supportive and you can also indulge yourself in clubs and societies and sports. But during your placement years you have to work hard and be ready to the grab placements. Areas of improvement can be like teaching methods can be enhanced like smart board are presents in selective classes. Some teachers are not good enough that's same story of most of the colleges. I think if you are active enough you can study here and can do well. All the best!!

Internships Opportunities

4

College conducts winter training for every 6th sem students and hepls them in strengthening skills .In my case ,I did it for JAVA and SQL and it was very nice and good, faculties come from Bangalore and other places. PWC offered 35k stipend here in 8th sem. I did Spring and Dotnet projects in 3rd and 4th year .

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. Mostly Accenture, TCS, PWC , Cognizant,HCL,Techmahindra,Ibm , Capegemini and many other MNCs and startup companies etc. visits here. In recession period there is less palcement otherwise approx 80 percent students get placed. I have been placed so I am currently gonna join the opportunity.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my opinion college fees are much less already compared to other colleges, so financial assistance is selectively available to staff students and some TFW quotas student of their state. Hold on there is nothing like scholarship here ! Regarding employment opportunities ,you have to start your study by atleast 3rd year otherwise you can lag behind But can't say you can be lucky also. There is like 80% placements here but in recession period it's close 50 to 60 percent. But if you are good enough nobody can stop you from being placed.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is quite good due to my friends (they are the best thing in my college life). I am currently living in hostel and ya its fun.You have a restraunt , playgrounds, library ,atm ,laundry available inside campus. Library is quite good and great place where you can focus and here people use libraries frequently to study and grab books. Sports are also great here. Inter college and department s sports are organized every year. Annual sports meet also takes place here. Whether you are a basketball player, football player or cricket player you can actively participate. Technical and cultural fests are also organized here called Prayukti and Rivera in months of april or may. Singers are called like last year Shilpa Rao came here. Students clubs and societies are in every department (Computer Society of India, IEEE, CivilEpochj etc. ) and some college level societies are there like HIT Times (covers all college events). They also conduct workshops but you have give a certain amount.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In first and second year ,TPS hostel is there where 4 students live in one room but room is large enough for 4 students(so nothing to worry). In next years, you are transferred to Matangini Hostel where some students live in double or triple accomodation mainly. Here the washrooms conditions are way bad . On sunday there is no cleaning facility , we have tried to change this rule many time but we were not listened. Mess food is not good enough if you are vegetarian then you are in big trouble.Menus are not asked from us , they cook whatever they like. But yes, eggs ,maggie ,coffee are generally available all days. If you want you can rent a PG OR Flat near college. There are lot available here in Kshudiram or Gandhinagar area at rates of 2k -3k.

Admission

I got here through WBJEE exam. Basicallly WBJEE exam is conducted during feb to april (in between) and you can get CSE branch here by having ranks around 10 k to 18k. I was alloted a seat here in CSE branch in my first phase counselling and got into this college. Being a home state student you can avail reservation benefits otherwise it's same for everyone.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
