- The stores and other facilities near the medicial college are well catered to the needs of students.

Dislikes
- Buses or other major transportation arent well set up near the Medical college area.
- The ksrtc stand is 8km away and no bus is made available to the front of the college after 9 pm.
- There is extreme heat stroke during the summer months and as construction works are going on constant dust storms in the air.
Course Curriculum Overview
Kottayam Medical College leads in the aspect of clinical exposure to students,and is often cities as one of the , if not the best tertiary care hospitals in Kerala. The faculty and staffs are professional and aids in providing any care possible and helping the students. However, the exams and the difficulty level of the papers set for internal assessment is high to influence the students to study in depth about the subjects.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for the college is Rs 22500 per year exclusive of other miscellaneous fees. Students who need financial help has abudant scholarships made availed by both the government and NGO sectors. The stiped for practicing as a house surgeon in the college is about Rs 26000. I usually partake in earning by going for tournaments and competitions that award cash prize.
Campus Life
The Campus Life is well structured with no restrictions imposed on the freedom of students. The students are free to go wherever they want and whenever they want even if it extremely late at night. The college also offers abundant opportunities in playing the sports of your liking . There is even college football and cricket women's team to promote the sports among the female students of the entire state. Tournaments and other exhibits are often organised to make available the best of opportunities for all students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees is extremely affordable with the rent being Rs 600 per year. However there is also establishment fees to paid every month that covers miscellaneous expenses like electricity, water bill etc. The mess is however a bit poor with the food quality lacking in some aspects. The mess fee structure is about Rs 120 per day for three meals a day plus snacks in the evening.
Admission
The cut off was AIR 8000 in NEET for general category. The admission is purely based on NEET scores, and I was referred the college through State Councilling. The admission procedure is a bit hectic and the scheduled classes immediately took off on the day that I took admission.
