- The distance of college from hostel. There is about 1 km distance.
- Only two big events are conducted. No other cultural programmes are given importance.
- Less no of courses available. There is no branches like automobile, chemical, food technology etc
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical engineering is one of the prominent branches of engineering. It provides information and awareness about various day to day activities and processes happening across the globe. It gives us an insight into areas like thermodynamics , machine learning, graphics , aerodynamics , aerospace engineering etc. The college has a prominent staff dealing with mechanical engineering and its various aspects. The college has to provide more practical classes rather than mere theories. The exams are prepared in a way such that students can improve their knowledge after each exams. The timing of exams is about 2 hours.
Internships Opportunities
TCS , vipro , infosys , google . Advancement of technical skills and knowledge. They procide frequent internships and projects. This will help the students excel in their cognitive and technological skills.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements during their seventh semester. TCS and Google often calls out job opportunities. About 75% of students get placed in multinational companies with high salary. My plan is to go for a higher education like mtech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees fluctuates frequently. Rapid hikes are seen. This has to be reduced. The current tuition fees is about Rs 10000. Many scholarships are introduced to uplift students who suffer financial instability. One among them is the E- grantz scholarship. Frequent trainings and mock interviews are conducted to amplify the student's speaking skills, confidence , knowledge etc. I am the secretary of the Arts cultural club which conducts various fests.
Campus Life
The campus life in M A college of engineering is quite enthusiastic and great. The campus is set up in a green background with nature's aesthetics. The tech fest conducted is named Takshak. The arts fest is named Sanskriti. There are many clubs which enhances the student's calibre. Sports events are conducted frequently.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is quite comfortable with proper facilities. Drinking water facilities, good atmosphere, kind and honest staff. The food is also good. The hostel registration was through a form given during the admission process.
Admission
Attended an all Kerala exam named KEAM to get placed in this college. I found the application form , application fees and application dates from cee portal. There is career uplifts for reserved and backward categories. The duration of the exam conducted was 3hrs. Areas to improve is to speed up the allotment process.
Interview Experience
Yes, I got placed in this college via an all Kerala entrance examination named KEAM. It was conducted in various centres. The question pattern was mcq type. The total marks were 960. Negative marking was awarded for each worng answer. The topics included higher secondary level physics, maths and chemistry. I prepared for the exam by attending an online crash course conducted by Brilliant.
