What Students Say
Likes
- As of IIIT's there approach of focusing on IT sector is the most promising thing I liked.
- I also liked the structure of examination of our college.
- The most promising thing in our college are the placements, as that was the only driving force for me to get into it.
Dislikes
- The gender ratio in engineering colleges have always been disappointing.
- The campus is not totally developed so it doesn't provide us the whole atmosphere of living in a college campus.
- The campus is located very far away from the city which makes it difficult for students to travel.
Course Curriculum Overview
As for my first time seeing this college I get to know about its degrees and water found the most interesting was the growth of IIIT's and I thought that doing a computer science degree from such college would also hold a lot of value which became one of the aspects to join the College. As per academics the institute is good and that's the most strong point other than that we have a lot of knowledge session and then open place where we can build a lot of community and clubs as the institute is recently developed. Some of the professors present over here are IIT graduates they are actually good but as we have a lot of courses so there is a shortage for all the subject professors so they do manage it but that can be improved. For future endeavours they also prepare us for personal interviews group discussions and a lot of such activities in communication labs where we learn a lot and the exam pattern is pretty decent according to me.
Internships Opportunities
As of internship opportunities the college do provide on campus internship opportunities and students hustle for of campus internships too, which makes an overall good environment for internship offers all the for on campus internships the place students from a batch of 400 students is around 30 as many students are not interested in internships and many don't get one on campus, although in off campus internships the students exel with some good opportunities including Google and Amazon.
Placement Experience
Our college has been recently developed so we have had only 4 convocation uptill now, but still according to statistics the packages are pretty decent as for our computer science we have an average of 14 LPA and for ECE we have average package of 13 LPA with highest package up to 90 LPA, there are many companies who visit our campus such as TCS which is a partner of our college and along with that many IT companies and gaming companies like Nvidia do visit our college. As for percentage of placements almost 80% of students get placed out of which 40% are on campus placements. I'll go for placement after the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
For institute academic fees and hostel fees you can refer to IIITN website where you can find all the information regarding institutes rules, fees , documentation. As of tuition fee they provide us a fixed brochure which is decided previously at the time of your admission. You can assume the complete cause to come around 14 lakhs. You can avail the central scholarship and the state scholarship depending on your choice and the availability. I am a first year student at Indian institute of technology Nagpur so up till now I have not done any jobs all though we have participated in various College fest and learned a lot from it.
Campus Life
As per campus life the college has been recently developed and campus is the permanent campus but the campus is not that good if you talk about sports facilities and as of fests, we have our cultural fest known as abhivyakti, and our sports first known as Kshitij other than that we have our technical first known as tantra feista. And as I have said about academics it is good so everything is available in library and the classrooms are good according to 60 students per class, other computer science related equipments are also available but the sports facilities are not that good. The whole club culture of IIITN is in a stage of development and there are various clubs that have been recently found so there is a whole lot of opportunities take it in a positive way.
Admission
So, basically IIITN is a semi-government college where we have partnered with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) so, addmission are basically done through Josaa councelling and Csab councelling after appearing for JEE mains examination, as of cutoff you should aim for atleast 96%ile if you are general and reservation benefits are only limited to addmissions, other than that there is no fee concession. As per exams the exams are taken very seriously and it is done through three sets first are the sessionals sessional 1 and sessional 2 these two are general exams and a replica of midsem in two parts and after that comes the end sem exam's, I do liked the exam pattern personally as it keeps us engaged and about admission many of us don't actually know about such colleges so basically if we had more information about it we would have been satisfied with our decision of choosing this college.
