Course Curriculum Overview

Btech in civil engineering is very much relevant in the real world and the curriculum is well set to get you ready for the real world and real experiences. The end sem exams are conducted at the end of the sem in every 6 months and we would have 2 series exams within this six months at regular interval

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The college do provide internship facilities at different firm also we could do internships outside and we got activity points for internships which we must get for qualifying the course and getting the course degree

Placement Experience

Ofcourse our college provides placement opportunity for the students starting from semester 6 and they also arrange mock interviews and exams for the students appearing for the placements many core companies with a good salary package visits our college every year

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete cost of this degree including tuition and service fee per year would be from a range of 12000 to 15000 . The college by the end of semester six would provide sufficient and efficient campus placements . Yes this course is affordable when enrolled into a government college

Campus Life

Our campus is very well active in both curriculum and other social activities. We got different clubs including technical social and arts club ensuring maximum student participation. We have got a club named OASIS the pain and palliative club of GEC other clubs are DHD ( dance club) IEEE and IEDC ( the technical clubs)

Hostel Facilities

The ladies hostel of gec have got spacious rooms accommodating 3 to 4 people per room. And providing separate beds and shelfs for each of them the rooms are spacious with proper ventilation. We have got common toilets about 5 to 6 on every floor . Our mess is run by an private firm

Hostel Fee: INR 4320 per year

Admission

The admission process was actually not that bad, yes it took a couple days but it was fine . Yes we did have an entrance exam (KEAM) for getting into government engineering colleges. And you have to score min marks to qualify the exam and proceed with the admission procedures. The eligibility of this course includes 12th boards or equivalent qualifying exams and the student should qualify the kerala entrance keam and we should apply through the keam portal and we could find application form on their site

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
