The campus is so good and the campus life is good

Politics is the only thing I dislike. These party members sometimes clash with each other.

Course Curriculum Overview

Compared to other colleges CUSAT has different syllabus. For CSE we don't have to study mechanical and civil in the first year. They have introduced a new subject named ICPS( Introduction To Cyber Physical System). Since I have no interest in civil and mechanical I choose this. This curriculum focuses on improving the communication skills and our other skills also. We have two internal exams which is held before sem exams.

Class Size: 66Course Fees: INR 106000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are variety of companies which offers paid internship for students from third semester onwards. We have to do an internship in first year and have to present it. There is marks for this presentation. Google, IBM, Cisco, Indian Oil etc offers internships.

Placement Experience

From 3rd year Companies like Google, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft etc For CSE the highest package is 25 LPA and the average package is 10 LPA For CSE almost all the students gets placed. My plan is to do Mtech after completing BTech

Fees and Financial Aid

All India Quota fees( One sem)- 52000 State Merit( one sem)- 27000 Most of the international and students outside Kerala has scholarships. Students in Kerala has also scholarships but to get it, it has some specific terms and conditions. You can also get part time jobs here.

Campus Life

There are variety of programs held in CUSAT like tech fest, cultural events and many more. They are held in February to September in between. There is a common library here where you can get high speed internet and all. Most of the classes are digitalized. Sports events are also present for all kinds of sports. A variety of clubs are present especially NSS.

Admission

For admissions you need to attempt the CUSAT CAT examination which you can apply through the CUSAT official website. To get admission for BTech CSE you need have a rank below 900. All India Quota for students outside Kerala and State Quota for Kerala students. International students can also get admissions here. CAT exam is 3 hour exam, topics are similar to that of JEE. Someone who is preparing for JEE can easily crack it. Overall the exam difficulty level is medium.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More
