Likes

Ragging free campus with pleasant atmosphere.Ragging is banned in our college which makes a good evironment for students to study.
Freedom .Since its a govt college students are not restricted to show their their talents or showcase their inerests un any fields.we are not answerable to anyone in the college.
Free to conduct and take part in campus elections.

Dislikes

No class tests are conducted apart from the series exams.
Girls toilets are not maintained properly.
Vehicles are allowed inside campus making difficulties for students to walk through college premises.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am good at drawing and designing which made me choose this course.Civil engineering requires drawing skills .This curriculum help me to draw plans for construction fields in engineering in real world.Good site visits and internships would further improve the course.The series and sem exams are frequent.Difficulty level is medium.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have reasonable fees since it is a government college .It also provides scholarships like E Grants for financially weak students.Our college fees is almost 10000 which is affordable for me since Im from awell off family .It also charges additional charges for other activities like IV .

Campus Life

We have Dyuthi as the main technical fest in college happening every year.It includes all technical events as well as pro shows.Last Dyuthi took plac last year.we also have departmentwise fests like Concetto for civil took place last April.Our library contains all study materials as well as story books required by us.Classrooms are well equipped with fans and lights and a projector .Sports event also take place every year.Interested students can participate for that.There are also many clubs in college that we can be a part of.

Admission

The admission process was pretty much easy for me.I've got 340 marks for my Keam entrance exam which was a good score and helped me to hike my rank.6904 was my rank and i easily got admission.Since i had a decent rank i didnt use any reservation benefits.The exams are frequent but difficult.Maths is a subject to improve for making the admission process easy.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Our college comes under the Kerala Technical University(KTU) and the syllabuses are those of KTU syllabus updated on 2016. College and faculties promote and provide chances for Industrial visit in industries all over India. The faculties of our college are well experienced and with better qualifications. Prof Rajesh Menon of the mechanical department is a gold medalist from IIT MADRAS.

Remarks:

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
