Course Curriculum Overview

the good thing about applied electronics and instrumentation is that you learn things from electronics as well as instrumentation. it is also easier to get into applied electronics than getting into electronics and instrumentation

some companies that offer placements also require you to do a 3 month or 6 month internship prior to joining. quite often the stipend of such internship is around 25k. there are also companies like texas instruments which offer great internship oppurtunities with hefty stipend

students can start sitting for placements starting from the sixth semester. and keep coming till the end of the course. ibs, delloitte,schneider are some companies that have came. the percentage of students getting placed from this course is lesser than from comp sci but greater than mech

Fees and Financial Aid

the tuition fee for this course is 7000 per year which is very affordable. the hostel im in is not the college hostel. here the rent and mess fees total to 6000 per month. you can avail central sector scholarships. there are placements but comparatively less in this course

Campus Life

campus life is great there are clubs for everything - technical clubs and others too. theres dance clubs, music clubs, anime clubs, movie clubs. there are a lot of events happening every now and then. and then theres dhwani and drishti which are the main fests

Hostel Facilities

the hostel ive chosen is a private hostel. the rooms arent too spacious but its enough. the food is okay. the lunch is great but breakfast and dinner are questionable. you can find many hostels within walkable distance from the college

i got in by writing the keam exam. keam exam isnt really tough. the admission process is also very smooth. you just choose the various options you want to enroll for and youll got alloted according to your rank

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
