Course Curriculum Overview

Courses are outdated with no relevance to the present in demand jobs or skills I took CSE as it was the most demanding course when I took admission in 2020,which was the pandemic year.Demand for CSE has been reducing since,with recessions in various countries and cost cutting by companies Permanent Faculties are very less and their teaching capability is also very less University exams are held every semester with 2 sets of internal exams per semester Difficulty levels are moderate

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I haven't been offered any internship The project I am doing is a project which translates Malayalam sign language to text and vice versa.The project is unique and has not been done before There are a lot of hackathons in which one can participate

Placement Experience

Majority do get placed Students are allowed for placements from 7th semester till they pass out. Companies visited are numerous with 700+ offers given in the last season My plan is to go fro job after graduation

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a few scholarships available,the number of students selected for scholarships are very less Financial assistance is close to nil Campus Placements are moderate.Not every one gets placed and the compensation packages are also less Tuition fee hikes happened one time during my tenure with the percentage of increase being 5% There are some unnecessary charges such as University arts and sports fee, compulsory 500 rs fee per semester+ special fee per year

Campus Life

Campus is medium sized.Campus life is okayish .Fests are awesome Annual fest called Dhwani happens per year in May or June Technical fest calle Dhristi happens once a year probably in April Books and journals available are very vast Facilities and technological provisions available are very normal like wifi , labs and projectors Lots of clubs are available and I was part of Quiz Club

Admission

Admissions are done through KEAM Entrance Examinations.Along with entrance scores,marks scored in Plus Two Board Exams is also taken into consideration.The aspect which I don't like is providing caste reservation. Only Plus Two Science students are allowed Application details can be obtained from various newspapers as it will be advertised well Here a lot more reservations are there,apart from regular reservations in Central Government Exams Exams are conducted once every year with the difficulty being similar to JEE mains level

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
