Likes

This institution is one of the best in kerala cusar comes under tier 1 category among colleges.
Campus has an area of around 180 acres of land and is a vast campus
It got many facillities and also the college is situated in a metropolitan area which adds the benefits .

Dislikes

Its very hot on summers and getting an apartment is very hard as the apartments are given for family only
Due to an tech fest disaster. The amount of fest and partys have reduced drastically.
Very tough evaluation for exams which reduces your cgpa

Course Curriculum Overview

Fire and safety is one of the best course which you can find all around engineering giving you a great chance of getting placed and as there is only a few colleges providing this course the probablity of getting placed is high

Internship opportunities are provided by the college during 3,4,5,6 sems mainly companys recruit those who finished internship under their company . Internship opportunities is also given to 1 year students.

Placement Experience

Campus placement is very high for the safety and fire course they provide. Around 92 percentage of the students who passed got placed from 94 percentage of the students who passed the last sem by completing every supplys

Fees and Financial Aid

State merit 1 sem=30000 All india merit 1 sem =52000 Nri 1 sem =60000 ( not sure) Scholaeships are provided those who receive e grantz don't have to pay hostel bills And those who are on sc st category college fees is verry low 1 sem =300 rs only....

Campus Life

Campus life is very good you got a good ground and there is a strict no-ragging policy no one would hurt you physically or mentally. library is top class. name of tech fest dishna usually held on October,november due to tech fest incident can't predict about tech fests

Admission

You need to get a good rank for the cat exam conducted by the college itself for getting admission to college. Ews benefits only while getting entry to college. So many exams and not easy to score very hard to just pass .

Faculty

3.5

Number of faculltys are very high. The quallification of faculltys is also good. We will be having 2 class mentors to whom we can raise our concerns. Interaction can be done through phone even at night but meeting them in the office you got a time limit from 9 am to 4.30 pm.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More
