My campus has no ragging and seniors are very friendly with their juniors and we can explore college life so much..there is no regulations for dresses..and also provide so many opportunities to increase your knowledge level..

Dislikes

Sometimes placement are very less and the quality of teachers is not that good.. somethimes there will be clashes among parties...and college fest are very lagging

Curriculum is theory based and we don't gain practical knowledge...I think more practical knowledge should be given to students..we don't get enough time to prepare for the series.. because it's come unexpectedly

Fee structure is very flexible because it is a government college..but they unnecessarily take college bus charges even if we not use it..Some of my seniors said that they don't get their scholarship amount

Campus Life

My college has a main annual and technical fest named dhyuthi.. everyone said that it's a wonderful experience and it's last for 3 to 4 days.. students are waiting for dhyuthi..I'm not satisfied with the library because of its less number of books.. sports are good and our team always go to national level.. students club called oasis is very active and provide a different experience

Hostel Facilities

Government hostels are given based on certain rules..it's vere affordable but food is not that good..I am staying in pg near the college.. Availability of pgs are very good and are very affordable and has freedom

Admission

It's a little hard to get admission in my college..u need to score a good rank in keam examination.. reservation is considered for each category.. admission process were smooth but need to wait for a long time.

Faculty

There are enough faculties but they don't care about their students that much..some are qualified teachers but others are not.. student faculty interaction is very poor..They didn't approach each students personally.. they don't solve our problems

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Prof Rajesh Menon of the mechanical department is a gold medalist from IIT MADRAS.

Remarks:

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
