- Beautiful campus, infrastructure, fests and activities happening everytime in campus. Sports and extra curricular activities opportunities to play on a good level of sports and playing tournaments at national level like ALL INDIA INTER NIT sportsfete
- Academics , internship and placement oppertunity, value of college tag.
Dislikes
- No water in 1st year boys hostel, too much hot weather, no washing machine for 1st year boys, curfew for 1st year boys.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is nice, let's u prepare for real world application or further academic pursuits. This curriculum helps you get crores worth of packages. There are classes on weekdays and offs on Saturday and Sunday , general class timings are 8:30 to 12:10 having in between a break of 20 minutes in total of 4 classes and there could be a lab in evening from 2:30 to 4 thrice in a week .
Internships Opportunities
I havent yet taken the oppertunity to take a placement because I am in ending of my first year but I know there is a course called IPMP for second year students which prepares then well for grabbing internship oppertunities and most of seniors have done their internship at some point of time.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for internship from 5th semester while for placement they are eligible from 7th semester and mostly by the end of 8th sem everyone gets placed or get admission in Universities for further studies. Google, Microsoft,etc comes for placement in tech field and for core branches L&T, Mercedes, etc comes for.placement .mostly 90%+ of students who sits for placement get placed in placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a pre defined fee structure provided to you during time of admission for both tution fees and hostel fees. There will be a complete expense of 5.5 lakh over 4 year. With the tag of nit Trichy you can easily avail a student loan for yourself.
Campus Life
Cultural fest of nit Trichy is Festember, which is South India's biggest cultural fest. Which lasts for 3-4 days. Which has a high footfall figure from iits also. Pragyan is the tech fest of nit Trichy which lasts for 3-4 days also. ISRO comes for pragyan tech fest demonstrating their projects. There is club for almost every thing you can think of in this college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel are good equipped with washing machines and wifi services. But for first year there might be some problems there are no AC or cooler facility, curfew timings are there , no washing machines for boys and discontinuous water service. Mess food is good which serves 4 meals in a day, out of which breakfast is my personal favourite. I can't skip mess's breakfast. You get options to choose messes every month if u face any problem .
Admission
Admission is done on basis of merit in JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION MAINS (JEE MAINS) followed by JOSAA. For reservation facilities there are some fixed seats for each category having separate separate rank list provided by JOSAA. Nit Trichy have the highest cutoff among all nits and gftis in India.
Faculty
In each class of each course there is one professor over 70 students on an average ,but when considering TAs there is 1 TA over 10 students. All of the professors are having degrees from best institutes of the world and all professors and teachers are very knowledgeable. Teachers are easy to approachable. Every lecture is in English and might be difficult for students with weak English.
