Course Curriculum Overview

5

They adhere to the newly prescribed CBME curriculum and adapted very well despite the sudden shift in requirements. Exams are conducted thrice a year (internals) with the final exams at the end of the year. Feedback and suggestions are given. Students are tested at the end of each clinical posting.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship lasts for one year, where a student rotates through all the major departments for varying periods of time and acquires necessary skills in each of the fields, helping them decide on their future as well as acquiring the abilities to be a good mbbs graduate.

Placement Experience

5

As mentioned before, internship is offered at the adjacent KR Hospital which is a goldmine of knowledge. Crucial skills are acquired which are useful to the graduates for the rest of their lifetimes. Internship lasts a year and is hectic but very fulfilling.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are regular each year, with ample ample opportunities for scholarships for those who need it. As it is a government college everything is quite affordable. Students are offered internship in the attached hospital after passing out where they get immense amounts of clinical experience to become good doctors.

Campus Life

5

An insane amount of fests and extracurricular activities, an absolute blast throughout the year. Annual cultural fest Sammscrithi, annual sports fest Kreida and annual medical conference Vagus keep students engaged throughout the year and offer a break from hectic studies.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel is amazing since we shifted into a new hostel a couple of years back. Rooms are spacious, attached bathroom is provided, cupboards, study tables, you name it. Campus is well maintained, and the food is good with both veg and non veg options

Admission

Admission process was mostly smooth, a little messy with the required documents and communication. However nothing too serious and you can expect everything to go well. They are just excited to have you as you are to be there :)

Faculty

5

Some of the best doctors in Karnataka who come to teach you with all their years of clinical experience. An absolute treat to be part of this college. Interactive classes with plenty of question and answer sessions and small group focused discussions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
