Proper structure for study.and cources are designed in benifit of student

Dislikes

No fests are being conducted.sometikes students from outside Kolkata face difference in teacher approach towards them
There is not enough facilities for many different things

Some cources are really upto the need for the students but some cources are really very boring and sometimes feels hard or difficult to focus and study as they are not interesting.i fell some cources in a particular branch is useless sometimes

The campus placement of this college is decent and students get placed in different companies.and the offer is smsometimes about above 100000 also in some.most of the cse students are placed but this year many other branches also got placed nicely.a student in 4th year is eligible for placement

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is to a very much extent feasible to many of students studying as it is below 500000.if there is a rise or increase in fees also; it is not a very big amount and can be managed by a student

The overall campus life experience is not up to the mark.sometimes it just feels not like college as not many cultural or interesting activities and events are organised.due to which it sometimes becomes very monotonous

Admission

We gave an entrance exam named wbjee through which I got a seat in this college.you can find the form on the website of wbjee.the exam is held inonth of April every year.with two papers each of 2 hours.the only thing which I did not like was that you can only give exam in West Bengal not outside it.this should be improved and once selected you have to come again and again in order to change or upgrade your choice.this should also be improved

Some of the faculty members are very good.the way they teach and the understanding of their regarding the subject.but many are there who just for sale of completion of syllabus teach.some of them even do not care if the students are understanding of not

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
