- Firstly the syllabus is quite advanced and many new core subjects are added in the syllabus every semester as the technology advances.
- There are so many things in the campus that students can never get bored.
- Lastly I would say the quality of the students is so good that each one of them have come from good schools and family.
Course Curriculum Overview
Many people don't know that Bachelor of Design is as good as any B.Tech degree. Ours is also a four year degre course and we have to go through same drills as the engineers. Our course is exactly what is taught in top designing institutes in India and therefore I don't see any changes to be made.
Placement Experience
From the final year only and many top corporate hire students and gives them prominent roles such as design engineer or product manager. From Isro to Mercedes Benz, many government and private companies have tie ups with PESU who offers jobs to students in numbers. Most design student though go for entrepreneurship so only 60-70% students apply for job and out of which maximum students are placed through campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is 4 lakhs a year but it covers all costs such as commuting through college bus our insurance and others. There are many scholarships and the toppers in PESSAT gets 40% scholarship in the first year and if they maintain 8+ CGPA their scholarship continues with 20% for the subsequent years.
Campus Life
There are n number of fests but I indeed enjoy Culnite the most where all the college students have to perform and show case their talent. The campus is huge as there are various colleges inside our campus and each department has their own building labs and some even sports. The playing field are open for all students and one can play sports of their choice as and when they want.
Admission
50% in 12th and then the test score in PESSAT. Unless this criteria is fulfilled, you can't be admitted to PES University for any course. I think around 40-45% seats are reserved for reserved category and rest all for open categories who comes under merit. Our semester starts in July and ends in December and the next semester starts in Feb and ends in June. So it carries on this way all four years.
Faculty
All our faculties are from IITs or IISc and their teaching is so simple that unless and until each one has it all cleared in their head they won't proceed further. In our course interaction with our faculties is inevitable as we can't sit on the side lines and learn designing.
