Likes

NIT Srinagar is located in the famous valley of Kashmir . It is exactly located on banks of Dal lake so one can witness dal from college itself .
If you haven’t seen snow , you can witness here in winters !!

Dislikes

As it is located in Srinagar so you may get trouble while travelling from Jammu to Srinagar . As sometimes due to rain road gets blocked , and u have to take flight !
It has less fundings for its events . Cultural events , tech fest etc..

Course Curriculum Overview

We usually have 2 exams in 1 semester I.e midterms and end terms . Civil engineering branch is good here and as I saw the seniors they do a lot of practical , field jobs here staying in this branch ...

The fee structure depends on category as well as family income . Family income (more than 5 lakh)- around 95k per semester ( including hostel mess and all charges ) ( b/w 1-5 lakh )-- 54 k Below 1lakh-- 34k

Campus Life

In a year we have 2 fest Cultural fest Tech fest We have one library in our campus and it is really very good . The seats are comfortable and it is air conditioned. This college also provides you good sports facilities from inter semester , inter year to inter NIT competitions. Our college also has 4-5 startups started by our seniors and are running in good pace.

Admission

I got 93.5 percentile I'm jee mains 2023 and rank of 73000 so I got civil engineering branch here . You can start the application process right after your mains result in jossa portal and select your college preferences according to your rank .

Faculty

3.5

Faculty members are qualified . Some have experience of 10+ years . Some have taught in IIT's also . But some teachers here are not so qualified and they teach not so good . So overall it's fine... !!

The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

My NIT SRINAGAR

Placement Experience:

From the starting of 4th year ,we are eligible to sit in the placement and the ratio is almost 65-70 percent percentage head and for it and cse - increff, microsoft ,make my trip ,paypal ,and visa and for civil - L&T and many sales company

My point of view on NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester student become eligible for placement. The companies visited are L &T for civil which is big company and select many students, jsw for mechanical and increff , paypal , microsoft, visa ,make my trip for IT and CSE

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

My course is chemical engineering. I like chemistry and physics very much so i choose chemical engineering as my first priority . There are regular exams and difficulty level is medium to hard . The HOD is very supportive

I got this college on the basis of my jee mains rank through csab counselling. Due to some medical issue i was not able to study properly and got little less score. My college accepts admission through jee mains ranking After that josaa and csab counselling. Cutoffs for this exam vary around 80 percentile for obc 90 percentile for general students...Read More
