Overview of Civil department in Techno Main Saltlake

The curriculum is set by the board MAKAUT. The colleges under the university have to follow the guidelines of the university and every 6 months there's a sem but you'll get about 4 months to prepare for it and also there are CA exams. 4 in total in these 6 months. I like civil engineering because I like designing buildings and all. I don't think any btech degree will prepare you for the real world you have to face it on your own. But the internship and projects will help you at some degree.

I have done my project from WBSEDCL. And it was a bridge construction project in kalyani. There was no stipend included in it. The internship is just for experience. But there are internship which will give you stipend also.

From the 7 th sem in 4 th year the students are eligible for campus placement. There are some good companies like pinnacle infotech, Shree cement, Shyam steel came in the campus drive but the sad reality is about 15% student will get placement. The highest package is 5.5 lpa and the average is 2.4 lpa. Fortunately I've got placed in pinnacle infotech which is a leading design company so after the btech I am joining there.

I am a lateral student and my overall cost in the 3 year span is 3.32 lakh but the sem fees are not included in it you have to pay ?1200 to MAKAUT website before the semester. In every 2 years the fees gets increased like it's not the same if you join the college now. And there are scholarships available such as swami vivekananda scholarship, kanyasree etc

The library is pretty huge and you can get your curriculum books from there. There are a lot of festivals in the college. There are lot of clubs and each club has there own fest so it's a lot. The name of the tech fest for civil department is civilution. And also there are intercollege football tournament cricket tournament. If you want to involve yourself in the clubs you can do so from the 1 st year itself. The technological provisions are not there in a class but there are projectors if needed.

Because I am a lateral student I have given the jelet exam to get admission in this college. The difficulty is moderate. One can find the application form and application fees in the college website itself.

The faculty to student ratio is less like there are overall 10 teachers at max but if you can tell them your problems they'll definitely help you with anything. The teachers are very helpful and efficient. Interaction between student and teacher is very common most of the cases. And the faculties credentials are good to like most of them have done M. Tech and some of them have a phd degree also.
