Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum here is very flexible which influenced me to choose this course in this college. We get to choose our class timings like if we want the morning batch (8 am - 2 pm) or if we want the evening batch (11 am - 6 pm). We get to choose according to our comfortable timing. The curriculum is designed in such a way that we get to gain knowledge in all subjects of computer science in these 4 years. Apart from the theory classes there are labs too. This curriculum prepares us for further academic pursuits or for jobs. We have four exams in each semester. 2 mid-sem and 2 end-sem exams in a time period of 6 months. The difficulty level is moderate but sometimes the important subjects which are required for our future, those papers are sometimes difficult so that we can be prepared for real-world applications. There are no such areas which requires improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides multiple internship opportunities from the 3rd year. Students apply for these internships otherwise sometimes the companies also choose on the basis of the academic excellence. There are 400+ companies which visit KIIT. There's HighRadius company which provides an internship to KIIT students from 3rd year inside the campus.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are provided on campus. Many companies come to the campus at the end of 4th year and then the placement drive starts. Students become eligible for campus placement from the 6th semester. They also opt for internships. The highest package offer is 62 lakhs lpa and the average package is 6 lakhs lpa. Some students are also offered multiple offers from which they get to choose. 99% of students get placed at the end of 4th year. Many opt for internships too. My plan after this degree is to get a placement in our on campus placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

I took admission in 2022, at that time the tuition fees was 14,75,000 (4 years) which has now increased to 18,75,000 (4 years). There's no regular fee increase policy. My complete course fees is 14,75,000. There's a compulsory fees of 1000 for each semester exam. There are no other compulsory charges. There's a scholarship scheme in our college which provides free education to financially unstable people or meritorious students every year. This includes the college fees, hostel and mess fees too. There are other scholarship schemes which provide a fee wavier in some cases such as academic excellence depending on a certain criteria.

Campus Life

5

Every year there's an annual and cultural festival of 3 days which is know as KIIT FEST. This is held in the month of February. Last year our college celebrated the silver jubilee. It was a 3 months celebration. There are 25 students societies. Students choose the society they're interested in. You can also be a part of multiple societies. They help us to gain experience and know about the real world. There are also sports clubs and tournaments are held frequently.

Admission

There's an eligibility criteria of 60% and above in 10+2. The application form will be available on their official website. There's no application fees for this. An entrance exam is held. There are 4 phases of this exam. The dates are in January. They conduct the exam in 4 phases. In a time period of 4 months. You've to qualify in just one phase. You can also choose to give the four exams. Once you qualify you'll get the desired course and then the admission process starts.

Faculty

4

There is a total of 5000 students in my batch (BTECH-CSE) and there are more than 500 faculties in our course. We have been provided with a mentor and the mentors are very generous and helpful. Our faculties are quite experienced in this field having a vast amount of knowledge which they give us in various forms. They guide us and let us know what basics we need for our interview. They clear our doubts too and take revision tests before exams. They help us both in our classwork and home assignments and projects. I often interact with teachers regarding doubts and they clear it at the moment making me understand the concept more properly.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
