Likes
- Ferguson college is a prestigious institution and being a part of it for my graduation was a honour. I love the teaching faculty for English literature. That are all very experienced and knowledgeable. They are also extremely approachable.
- The college campus is very serene. As you enter the college through the gigantic gates, you experience and different world as compared to the husle bustle of Pune. The greenary and the magnificent architect of the building might leave you in awe.
- The college has all the facilities that are necessary for students from library to girls recreation hall. From a ground to walking tracks. From computer labs and canteens and from basketball court to tennis court. You have it all here.
Dislikes
- The stray dogs sometimes can be a hazard for students but most of those are friendly too.
- Most of the population in Pune prefer Marathi for communication which is also seen inside the college premises and that might be a bit problematic sometimes
- The presence of politically lead organisation can be bit of a problem when you don't really wanna be a part of it.
Course Curriculum Overview
For English literature course, the syllabus is quite comprehensive. It is divided into three fiction, drama and poetry. Fir fiction and drama the history part is very good and interesting but for poetry we have a lot of poems and not the history part.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the first and second year might differ but it also depends upon the selection of subjects. If you opt for foreign languages like French, german then you have to pay extra fees around 3k additional to the course fees.
Campus Life
College life surpassed my expectations. Being part of a few good clubs and various credit courses, it led to new experiences. NSS played an important part in my personality development and I feel i leared a lot. Plus the college fest provides a platform for showcasing your talent.
Admission
For me, the admission process was very easy cause most of the forms were available online and the we were expected to physically be present in college for the admission once the list came out. But after NEP the process is different
Faculty
One of my professor is chitra ma'am and she is a remarkable educator in English literature department speculation in poetry. He Passion of poetry and literature is evident when you enter her class. She is very experienced and full of knowledge. And her passion and dedication to educate student is the key reason why I love attending her lectures.
