Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I wanted to pursue BTech because I have always been fascinated by technology and everything it is capable of. The curriculum of KIIT is very good for the preparation for real world however, it isn't enough and outside resources are required for further academic pursuits. They can add more of tech related courses in the first year instead of so many non tech courses. The timings and frequency of exams are quiet good and doesn't bother the daily routine, the level of exam papers are mostly moderate.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the 6th sem students are eligible for placement. Last year the maximum was 63 LPA which is quiet impressive and the average is around 6-8 LPA. The companies that visit most are Amazon, Wipro, TCS etc. Almost all student get places in companies. My plans after I graduate is to apply for masters abroad and then get a job there.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Tution fees increased before even I started my course but in general, I think the fees are reasonable considering all the facilities the college is providing us. The tuition fees is around 2.5 lakhs, I have premium 2 bedded hostel room so they cost 70k and the fooding is 25k all per semester. Financial aid is available for those who got full score in the entrance exam and the college sends scholarship informations in Gmail regularly. I have yet not undertaken any roles but I am hoping to take some in the next years.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual technical fest is called "Kiitfest" is a 3 day long fest filled with lights and music. A huge range of books available in our central library accessible to all students. The sports facilities are excellent and we have a lot of famous sportsmen as our alumni. The societies in are also very vast and diverse and cater to all kinds of interest and passion.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities are just excellent. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They provide very good quality furniture, the ac works very good and the maid cleans the rooms and bathrooms everyday. I would rate the food 7/10. The food quality is good but the options are very less and there's just one or two dishes to choose from. The hostel registration consists of a process of choosing your room size(1 bedded, two bedded, etc) then selecting if you want premium hostels(with bathrooms) or non premium(no bathrooms).

Admission

The eligibility was just 50% in 12th boards which was pretty lenient. The application form can be found in the KIIT website and the filling process was very smooth as well. The exam centers weren't very far and they had comfortable seating arrangements with suitable timings that we could select. I would suggest using better computers in the exam halls as my computer got shut down mid exam which was recovered easily but gave me a lot of anxiety a I thought I'm going to lose my paper.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good and almost all the faculties have either graduated from IITs or NITs so there is no doubting there experience. It is very easy to interact with thr faculty members as they are very cooperative and friendly and will share their contact info on the very first day.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
