Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Currently I'm doing bcom from Gargi College, Delhi University. The bcom covers many topics like accounting, finance, marketing etc this wide range makes it appealing for students who wants to learn about different areas of business. Subjects like accounting and corporate law are useful in real business situations. The course provides a good base for higher education like an MBA, or professional courses such as CA or CFA. Regularly updating the course to include new business trends and technologies like digital marketing. Focusing on more soft skills such as leadership and public speaking would better prepare students for the workplace. Exams are usually at the end of the semester, spreading out the study load and allowing regular knowledge checks. The exams are fair.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship opportunities are available with the startup companies and not profit organisations with the average stipend of ?2,000 or ?10,000 it can go upto ?15,000. It all depends on what company is offering such internship. Roles offered under internship include business analyst, content writing, marketing intern, research assistant. Some internship offer stipends and duration vary. Project covers market research, data analysis, content creation, and more. Outcomes include reports, skill, development, and networking opportunities.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible for the campus placement s from the 5th semester of their undergraduate program. Several reputed companies visits Gargi College such as deloitte,TCS,KPMG,EY,wipro, genpact. The highest package offer was 21 lakhs and the average packages offer was 5.35 lakhs it all varies each year and depends on factors like company, role etc Gargi College generally maintains a high placement rate, with a significant proportion of students securing job offers during campus placements. My plan after getting the degree is that for one whole year i will be joining the workforce and then i will do the MBA in product management.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual tuition fees for the bcom course is approximately ?15725. In addition to tuition fees, the students also have to pay examination fees which can vary from ?1400 to ?1600. It totally depends on what course you're doing. I have paid around 1500 for the first semester also i have to pay examination fees at the end of the each semester. And the students who are living at the pgs there living expense varies. Including tuition and other compulsory charges, the total annual cost for a bcom degree might be around ?17,000 or ?18,000. Various merit based and need based scholarships are available, ranging from ?5,000 to ?20,000. There are several scholarships provided by the state and central government for economical weaker sections and minority students. As a part of du, the students can apply for various need based scholarships offered by the university. Student often do internship and earn upto ?2,000 to 5,000 or more it all depends on the student and there internship.

Campus Life

4.5

At Gargi College the annual festival like Reverie( feb- march) and dawali fest( oct-nov) The library offers a diverse range of books and journals, easily accessible to students. Classroom are equipped with the modern facilities including AV aids and smartboards. Sports facilities cover various activities such as basketball, cricket, etc and extracurricular events like debates and workshops are common. Student-run clubs, and societies cater to diverse interests, enriching campus life and fostering community.

Admission

Before applying ensure you meet the eligibility criteria. You must have completed high school (10+2) from recognized board and studied commerce in your 11th and 12th class or any subject student can apply for bcom but it is better if you have studied commerce before Now you have prepare for cuet exam and fill the application form which can be seen at nta website and fill that form and there's application fees, which varies based on your category( general, obc, sc,st) study well and be prepared to preform your best. The cuet exam is normally out of 800 marks. For the Gargi College you have to have 700 as a general category student.if you belong to special category, you have lower cut-off marks. Then the centre is provided to the students and sometimes you have to give all the subjects exams in a one day. The cuet exam is not to hard and not to easy. If you meet the cut off and get selected then congrats! Improvement areas would be clearer instructions, better technical support.

Faculty

4.5

At Gargi college, the number of teachers compared to students is good. This means teachers can give more attention to each student, helping them learn better. With fewer students per teacher, students get quick feedback and feel more involved in the class. The teachers at the Gargi College are well educated. Many have advanced degrees like PHDs and have published research papers. Teachers mentor students, helping them with academic projects, research, and career planning. Teachers are easy to approach and are available during office hours for any help students need. The relationship between students and teacher is friendly and supportive. Students often interact with teachers in tutorials, labs and through extra classes. Some teachers do research and publish their work, which they share with students, keeping them informed about new developments. Some teachers have received awards for their work, showing their commitment to teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
