Course Curriculum Overview
I saw great aspects in how different languages of computer programming can be used to make things better and make better things for general use. So this college offers a very good course in computer science engineering and that's why I chose this curriculum and college. The curriculum prepares you well as it offers not only computer related subjects but also other subjects like biology for a brief period. They also offer various subjects as electives which allow students to have a look at various things.
Internships Opportunities
There are internship offer right from first semester but mainly it matters from 3rd semester. The companies are local that offer various paid and unpaid internships based on your skills. They ask students to perform a given project or task separately or in group based on requirement and then they give a certificate for participation. It's also good for exposure to what's happening in market and what kind of competition is out there .
Placement Experience
The students get eligible for placement from 6th semester and there are a lot of companies ( more than 450 ) that visit like Amazon, Delloite, Dell, etc. Last year 2023, 5200 jobs were offered and the highest package offered was 63 lakhs. In CSE branch there is a placement percentage of more than 90% . My current plan is to get placed first in a good company and then look further but in future maybe I will go for M.Tech first and then later think about job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is a little bit high. And they increase it after two years I think but I am not sure. The complete cost is around 5 lakhs per annum that can also go up depending on the hostel you choose. There is a scholarship of 10000 given to students who are ranked 1 to 1000 in the KIIT entrance examination test . Moreover there is a provision of scholarship for the toppers of each branch in each semester. There are various clubs which one can join and play different roles but I don't think there is stipend as those are not paid but they give you certificates.
Campus Life
Each year there is Hostel Premier League tha organises various sports activities like cricket basketball volleyball badminton etc. Moreover there is KIIT fest KIIT mun and other various festival. They are held around January to March and in October to December period. There is a huge library that contains any kind of books and journals. The classrooms are digitally oriented as well as board oriented too and can be used whatever is better required. There are various clubs to enhance your other skill like singing dancing, movie making, and others . So a lot of extra curricular activities are going on along with studies. There is excellent scope for sports with lot of grounds and courts for various sports. There are around 50 students run clubs that caters to different interset . And they play an important role in social development of students. So they are vital for any college
Hostel Facilities
Room is according to your preferences like A.C. or non- A.C. or premium hostel. There is daily cleaning of rooms that is taken care by hostel management. Meal quality is good for non veg but okay for veg students. And menu is okay but evening snacks don't offer much. Registration for Hostel is done during admission process and it is affordable easily. There us a lot of hostel so most probably you will get a hostel. No I am in hostel and haven't rented a room in locality.
Admission
The eligibility is simple as anyone who's passed 12th can appear. The application form and application dates is all announced on the official website of college ,i.e., kiit.ac.in . The application form is free of cost . There is no reservations in entrance examination. The exam takes place three times a year near April to July. The difficulty level is easy and the admission process is smooth so I don't think there is any area for improvement in admission process.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is 1: 125 approximately but it differs according to the subjects. The learning experience is good because this ratio lowers due to the division of sections,so the ratio comes down to 1:80 approximately. The faculty are really good and ready to discuss whenever required even after class or on WhatsApp. The faculties of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, C Programming were really good and they tried to teach in way that everyone could understand. The interaction with teachers can be done anywhere as they are easily approachable as per your request and requirements. You can meet them after class, after day is over in their cabins. You can revisit a topic later if you missed the class .So there is good approachability without any hesitation.
