Remarks

Till now, I have found the college as a wonderful place. It is a very enjoyable place. But i think that if i had been a hosteller, it would've been a much more enjoyble place as i would be able to stay int he college for long, practice sports with my frie

Entrance Preview

I took the WBJEE exams and cracked it with a rank of 5k. This college is among the top 5 engineering colleges under WBJEE with an excellent environment focusing both on academics and the genereal development of a student and this college was very famous. So i preferred this college. My choice of studying engineering had been made when i was in class 7 itself and I had kept myself motivated and prepared for only that. Nothing else stood as "the second option" for me when i had made up my mind.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Well the professors as well as the lab assistants seem to be very qualified. As we came to know from the introductory day, many of them were foreign returns with great degrees with them. So faculty wise, I would say that it is one of the best institutes(not that i have visited many institutes). But being an autonomous institute, Heritage has designed its own course and modes of exam. Though that is designed in view for the better development of a candidate but it is really very exhaustive and lengthy and breaks the skull studying so much.

Internships Opportunities

I am a first year student and I do not know much about the internships, but i think the college must have pretty good facilities for that as well. because the placement facilities are great here.

Placement Experience

4.5

The campus placements are very good down at heritage. Most of the placements occur in the IT sector companies but the rest of the departments also go well in the placements. This year the main company's names which i heard were TCS, Wipro and many more. And out of 608 appearing students, TCS itself took 518 students. The starting packages varied from 3. 5lpa to 6. 6 lpa, which i guess is quite good.

College Events

5

The list of events celebrated here go on an endless list. Every alternate day there is a notice for a new even. Starting from a grand Fresher's party, there has been a Coding workshop. There was also a kite flying competition in which i was a mere spectator as i dont know how to fly kites. The fresher's party is to be held in october and is supped to be the best party ever. The college organises intercultural dance and singing events. Also the best cultural fest of kolkata is held in heritage named as Euclasia. There are many clubs there which keep organising different events from time to time. For eg, there is a photo walk being organised on 2nd october by a club of heritage named Pravarsana. So life here is fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. Actually the fees is set by WBUT and the college has no say in it. So the fee structure is regular with not much stress on the pockets. Moreover the college also facilitates Tuition Fee Waiver facilities and also informs the candidates about the different scholarship schemes going on.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship facilities, but the college does allow Tuition fee waiver scheme. I am not aware of any such other scholarships but the notices for external scholarships keep popping from time to time. Moreover education loans are easily available from banks by the name of Heritage itslef.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is a life full of fun unless as student is hell bent on attending each and every class. There are sports events everyday after 3 pm. There are instructors to teach sports including cricket, football, archery, basketball and many more. Fun with friends in canteen and other places is also great. Well the gender ratio in my some classes including mine is very disastrous which comprises of 8 girls in a class of 65. But in departments like Biotech, the number of girls far exceeds the number of boys like 55 girls in 65 students. Lab facilities are good and we even have a subject for extracurricular activities which includes singing, dancing, drama, debate, photography, creative wirting and painting. Moreover many clubs are there for each of the extracurricular activities and going out with them is great fun. Well most of the people are non discriminants but in some, there arises a feeling of LOCALS and OUTSIDERS which is very irritating. But there numbers are low and hence the idea of discrimination doesnt spread much in the college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

About mess and hostel- I am not actually an hosteller. I am a day boarder. So i dont have much of an idea about those. But as much as i heard from my friends, the PGs are not that expensive and the hostels are good, with a common tv and fridge for about e

Alumni/Alumna

When i was coming in the college, I feared that i would be ragged. and that is what others also told me, But when i did enter the college, things seemed to be just the contrary. The seniors proved to be excessively friendly and went on with us just like our other friends. They helped us understand the norms and rules of the college, suggested us about how to study and also took us into the various clubs and many other things. They were and still are very cooperative and we have a great communication network with them. It is really nice when someone has got your back.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
