Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum goes as designed by AICTE. My course is Data Science which is relatively new, still the course structure is pretty well planned. Few subjects taught in the first year are of no use and I have no idea why a student enrolled in a computer science branch would study mechanical or chemistry but that's how AICTE has designed the structure and the college follows it well most of which js relevant to tbe course

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement scenario is pretty messed up, companies do come but most of them are mass recruiters from Kolkata and the package is just the bare minimum, we are allowed to sit in campus since the 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Cognizant Capgemini, EY are some of the major recruiters, highest package from campus goes around 10-12 LPA and average is around 4-4.5 LPA. Around 55-65% students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure when I joined was around 45000 per semester, but recently since the 2024 joinees, I have heard the fees has gone upto 70000 per semester which is pretty high. Students from bengal get good scholarship and students from Bihar apply for loan which is easily available. I exactly don't know the scholarships from bengal but many different types of scholarships are available.

Campus Life

3

Since there is no proper hostel for boys within the campus, the campus life is almost null, since most of the students live outside in flats. But many clubs are pretty active and club events get organised pretty often, again language becomes a barrier there as well. There is a central library which has all the books related to engineering and it is pretty good and big.

Admission

The admission process was pretty simple after WBJEE exam, there were a few counselling rounds, I guess 3 rounds and one sum up round, then we were called for physical verification of our documents, 10th -12th admit cards report cards migration tc etc, wbjee rank card, medical and anti ragging forms. I had no such reservation available since I am a general from other state. The WBJEE exam is in 2 rounds one for science and one for match both of 2 hours on the same day.

Faculty

3

The faculty members are good, they really try hard, sometimes language problem comes because most of them are from bengal, but still 50-60% faculty members are pretty good and well skilled. The classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and projectors and some faculty members make good use of the resources to teach

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
