No Regrets

Gargi college has definitely been a blessing. I would always cherish the memories and friends it has given me.

Delhi university is a very prestigious institution. I had heard a lot about Gargi College. It is considered one of the top colleges under DU. I was clearing the cut off list under many colleges, but i opted for Gargi college. I completed my high school in a girl's school. And I think it provides a very safe environment for the development of the student. So, I chose a girl's college as well. and I think I made the right choice

The course curriculum is quite apt. My course is B.Com(Hons). It is more advanced that B.com programme. we have to study more papers in a particular semester than the program students. The course keeps getting updating according to the changes in the various laws and rules. For eg, GST was included as and when it was implemented.

My college does provide internships. It has its own placement cell. They forward messages regarding various internships. The students can apply for them according to their choices.

Gargi college had its own placement cell. They organise placement drives for job opportunities for students. companies like EY, Dell, Wipro, etc. come to Gargi for placements. The average package is Rs. 2-6 lacs pa. also, central placement cell is also available for placement opportunities.

Delhi university has a fest season from December - february in which various colleges have their annual fests. Gargi has its annual fest Reverie in The end of Jaunuary. It is a one of the best fests in DU. Famous actors, bands, DJs come to perform for the extravagent function.

Gargi college is a government college. thus, the fee structure is feasible. The fee is paid annually for both the semesters. The fees for all thr three years for b.com(hons) has been under Rs. 10,000. They give a notice one month after the start of the semester. and give a 2 months time to pay the fees.

The college provides scholarships to students who work hard to score well and do jot belong to rich families.

The campus life is very exciting. there are students always working on something, indulging themselves in various activities. There are various departmental fests, seminars conducted, intercollege competitions, etc. Renowned personalities are invited in such seminars for them to share their knowledge and insights with the students.

There isn't any hostel facility provided by the college. However, the institution is considering to build a hostel for the college students and it would become very convenient for them. However, Thr PGs near college are affordable. As far as the canteen is concerned, that is not what I would be proud of. the food is okay and a little expensive as compared to other colleges.

Gargi college has an alumini network where students can register themselves. The senior students are very helpful. they help us with the course material. also, the college follows a no ragging rule.

Exams are held 2 times in a year. The pattern is CBCS. There is internal as well as external assessment. The internal assessment is for 25 marks oit of which 20 are for class assignments and tests where as 5 marks are for attendance. 75 are for external assessment.

The admission procedure is purely online. You need to fill out a form with necessary documents attached like 10th certificate, 12th certificate, aadhaar card, etc. The various colleges under DU take their cut off lists out. It is in correspondence with the 12th percentage. If a student clears the cut off a particular college, she/he can go that college with her/his certificates to that college. There are volunteers to guide the candidates.

The faculty of Gargi College is excellent. The senior professors are very knowledgeable. They make sure that each student understands everything. The associate professors are very friendly. Their strictness about attendance is on their own discretion. It depends from teacher to teacher.
