Likes

Good infrastructure in 200 acre land with wide variety of trees and plants
Good placement offers from famous companies like l and t, Benz, bmw etc
Big playground with floodlight along with tennis court and basketball court.

Dislikes

Political party is a huge negative in our college.
Around 10 percent of the working days are left due to strike
Some of the teachers are not that dedicated.

Course Curriculum Overview

New curriculum is being introduced in this year. Almost every 5 years university updates it's syllabus. The older syllabus had many issues as students find it difficult to complete it in the allotted time.But the current one solves the issue.

Internships Opportunities

We have like a wide variety of internship from both government and private companies. Most of them do not pay anything. But internships during last year provides some amount as stipend. Our college provides a break for doing internship.

Placement Experience

This institution provides the best placement offers in Kerala and many students from different colleges come to our college to get placement as our college allowes them to participate in this. The average placement offers is 6 lakh per annum

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is around 30k for 4 years. In addition to this we have to pay around 20k as pta fund during the admission time . There are many scholarships offers by different organisations which are supported by our college.

Campus Life

There are many clubs which are the best in Kerala. We have a football ground as well as a basketball court with floodlight. We also have tennis court. We have a indoor stadium with badminton court and table tennis along with indoor gym.

Admission

For admission we have to write keam exam and the lowest cut off for general category is 11000 rank which is for industrial engineering, 800 for cs,1500 for ec, 2000 for eee, 4500 for mechanical engineering,8000 for civil

Faculty

Our faculties are the best in Kerala with everyone having atleast PhD. Most of them are very friendly. Almost all the faculties are free to help us in every time.They provide help to improve ourselves during placement and other activities.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
