MBBS is a course which saves the lives of patient and cure thier illnesses which will bring light to their life. From second year onwards we start getting clinical exposures, which helps us to prepare for the real world medical situations.Exams are conducted every 3 months which are quite difficult but will help us analyse our knowledge and improve them.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is mandatory internship of 1 year in our college with a stipend of 25000 rupees per month. During this period students have to work in various departments of college as house surgeons which will add experience to their career. But internship hours are tiring due to huge patient load.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees currently is around 24000 rupees. There will be hike if the government takes decision for the same. But not much hike will be there compared to private medical colleges. There is university fees of around 4000 rupees and exam fees of around 1000 rupees. There are various scholarships available for economically backward section. There are no campus placements. During the internship of 1 year duration, a stipend of 25000 rupees per month is provided.

Campus Life

5

Various activities are done by the Students union for students such as cultural events, arts fest, literary fest, sports fest, arts exhibition, talent hunt, interbatch competitions, treasure hunt etc. There will be atleast 3 events each month. We have a college central library which provides numerous books on medicine which can be accessed by any of our college students without any membership. There is a separate area for self study in the library. The library also provides free wifi. Even though it is a professional course, our college never restricts on working on our extracurricular activities. At the same time no comprimise will be made in academics. There are various clubs like nature club, football club, cricket club, student support club, palliative care club, patient support club, mental health club etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are two ladies hostel for MBBS students. The monthly hostel fees is 50 rupees. Mess fees is 110 rupees per day and an additional establishment fees of 700 rupees is remitted for the maintenance of hostel as well as for paying electricity and water bill. Meal quality from mess is good. There is separate menu for veg and non veg. Registration process for hostel is done by the admission day itself. There is no night curfew in our hostels. Each room contains 2 to 4 people. There are few single rooms also.

Admission

To get admission to the course, one should clear NEET exam conducted once in a year. Application for NEET is done online. But the exam is in offline mode. It is one of the most difficult entrance exams in India with the most number of participants attending. The admission to colleges will be based on the ranklist. I have availed reservation under latin catholic category which provides 3% reservation of seats in each college

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio of each department is minimum 10:175. The faculty in our college is highly professional and experienced in their feild of study. We can approach them whenever we need them. They are student friendly. But mostly self study is practiced in our college . So interaction with teachers is less. But they will always guide us .

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
