What Students Say
Likes
- The facilities like the game facilities as KIIT has my open stadiums and also indoor stadium for variety of games.
- The clubs and societies KIIT has are a great source of improvements for the social skills and also in networking with other people and improvises the communication skill and talent of the student
- The internships and most importantly the placements it provides are great
Dislikes
- I personally feel the fees they charge for B. Tech degree is bit more pricey and i don’t feel that an under graduate student should pay this much amount for a degree.
- I know every student doesn't push himself/herself that much to get a good placement but still there are many who hard and still not getting the placement they truly deserve
Course Curriculum Overview
If we talk about the curriculum then i like the way they provide a student with the advanced facilities. Here you will get a good environment to study, the libraries are very good for studying and also to improve other skills there are many clubs/societies where one can join to develop new skills. Everything is well and good, but i just don't like the assignments they give to B.Tech students (i say about B. Tech students only since I'm one of them) and i think many students will agree to that too because those assignments take the unnecessary time where a student can focus on many other skills.
Internships Opportunities
I don't know much about college provided internships as i just completed my 1st year now but there are coding clubs like Google Developer Club and Microsoft Society and some others also where you can get the internships.
Placement Experience
The placement status at KIIT is not that great but it's good as there are many students facing difficulty in placement in 2023-24 ( but it was very high in the year 2021-22). Nearly 50%-70% students get placed each year though it was below 50% for the year 2023. And if the student doesn't get placed anywhere, he/she can pursue for their masters, KIIT also provides master degrees. The highest package for a B. Tech student is 52LPA and the average is 6LPA and the lowest being 3LPA. Few students get their campus placement by the end of their 3rd year only.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sunce, I'm a B.Tech student so i can only provide the fees structure for the same. So, the academic fees for B. Tech for 4years is near about 16 lakhs and if we include the hostel and other service fees then you have to pay near about 20 lakhs. KIIT doesn't provide any scholarship but one will get a huge rebate if they hold the top rank in KIITEE (entrance exam conducted by KIIT).
Campus Life
The social life at KIIT will be great only if you don’t get involved in any bad or illegal activities. There are many clubs you can join for developing your skills and also you can form networks and if you are lucky you can make friends for life. There are many sports facilities, they provide you an indoor stadium too and also they provide gym facilities. KIIT will give a very good fest once in a year. You can learn so many things also can enjoy your life here but sometimes you may feel lonely as there are hell lot of students and they don't give any damn about each other still you will be able to make every good friends over here.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities at KIIT is actually differs hostel to hostel. Few are extremely good and few are extremely bad but most of them is mix of both, that is, average type. They maintain proper hygiene and also the mess food are good(maybe not that good but is manageable). Also there are many PGs near KIIT but being a hosteller i don't have much idea about that.
Admission
In order to get admission at KIIT, one needs to appear KIITEE entrance exam. It occurs twice in a year between the month of January to May and there's no application fee for applying. The exams occur in CBT mode like JEE. And if I talk about the difficulty level of examination then it's easier as compared to JEE, still one has to prepare well for it. In order to get admission, one needs to achieve atleast 75 percentile.
Faculty
The faculties at KIIT are very cooperative, even though some of them are very excellent at teaching and some are kind of poor at it but everyone will understand your problem once you convey them and they will surely find a way to help the student out. And i should say the teacher-student interaction at KIIT is very good.
Other Applied Colleges
Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Since I'm from Odisha, Tamil Nadu is more distant that's why I opted for KIIT which is near for me and also provides great facilities.
