VIT Pune, B.Tech, Chemical Engineering
Reviewed on Nov 27, 2018

Remarks

One must choose vit for his overall Development just one major drawback of vit is they have roll numbers according to marks so always good student gets good internal while guys who have last roll number event if they have good knowledge they always get low internal marks

Entrance Preview

In my 12th I was always heard of this college that it ranked in one of the topmost engineering colleges in Maharashtra and one more reason is that I want to pursue my engineering in the chemical field so this is the only best college after ICT for chemical so I have opted for this college

Course Curriculum Overview

4

About the course curriculum, they have some amazing faculties their to decide it. The course curriculum was totally based on what industries want from the engineers like which concept to be clearer and one more thing is they have the course curriculum based on GATE examination.they almost cover the whole gate syllabus in their 2&3 year

Internships Opportunities

Yes.they provide internship but it was less for core branches like chemical, mechanical, industry-production, instrumentation while for circuit branches amazing internship opportunities are there. About stipend, for circuit branches, it varies from 15000 to 40000 per month and for core 12000 to 15000 per month

Placement Experience

4

Same as for internships placement and job opportunities are also less for core branches compared to circuit branches while this year one amazing results is to be turnout that even core also have good placements. For a chemical company like Jacobs, jubilant came while for industrial production mechanical reliance, overlook came. And about circuit companies like Nvidia, aspect ratio, Accenture, and various visited college this year till now

College Events

5

This is the best thing about VIT. I bet no college India can match the level of events taking place in vit almost 20-30 events cover every year in vit 1)melange(intercollegiate competition) 2) vishwakarandak ( intercollegiate competition) 3)vishwotsav (annual gathering fest) 4)MUN 5) TEDx 6)internship mela and many more

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of vit is a bit expensive they cost 131000 per year for a single student in which they include college fees, tuition fees, and all other charges too. In which tuition fees is something around 1,11,700 other all stuff is comes in remaining amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, they have a separate section for this which look upon this scholarship thing they called it as the student section. About various scholarship, they offer punjabrao hostel Jan dhan, EBC too for open people

Campus Life

3

Campus life in vit is damn amazing because since they have very small campus u get the opportunity to almost half of the college and in every 15 days there are different competition or talks have been held by different clubs like edc, ted, abvp, mun, and student council. They also have some technical clubs like supra, Baha, robotics forum.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

They have good hostel facilities but food quality is worst but there are some good options around college which offer good hostel and food facilities like Maheshwari hostel, sadhu and for pg like benefits one can opt for Chintamani Nagar. They have 1 girl and 1 boys hostel only.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni of VIT are very helpful. Every year they call some good alumni which give some inspirational talks and motivate students about future some of the best faculty of vit are CEO of shoppers stop, honorable Hanmantrao Gaikwad, singer Mahesh kale and many more

Exam Structure

I literally want to add this is the drawback of vit as of now I’m in 3rd year 1st sem so I have been here from last 5 sem and I have given exams in 4 different patterns till now. About recent exam structure, the main focus is on practical learning we have 60% weight to practical while 40% to theory only in which 60% covers project too

Admission

As other colleges do admission on the basis of MH CET just like them Vit too considered only mhcet score nothing special was in it. They don’t have their own exam for entrance like VIT Vellore use to do. About the admission process, it was too easy u just have to come with your cet scorecard and all other important documents and that it

Faculty

4.5

I think they have the best faculty overall. Like I would like to tell about my branch we have 13-14 professor in our branch out if which almost 10-11 have done their doctorate in various fields. Same about other branches too. One more advantage is HOD of all the departments are Ph.D.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
