JISCE, BE, Biomedical Engineering
Reviewed on Nov 21, 2018

Remarks

The college is definitely good but the team should focus on the proper availability of lab equipment, students needs, and placements(of core companies) to the maximum extent.

Entrance Preview

The only college near my house providing biomedical engineering. Both medical and engineering at one go. The course was new and was also related to the subject of my interest "BIOLOGY". Moreover, JIS has a good reputation for building characters and personality of the students. Thus opted the college and feeling lucky for the decision taken 4years back.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As mentioned earlier, the course is completely new in India as compared to other subjects available in engineering. The course started with basic physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics along with a touch of economics, computer sciences, English language, and grammar - in the 1st and 2nd years, thus building the base for the students by brushing up the faded knowledge of +1&+2. In the 3rd and final years, the course included all the subjects including biomaterials, electronics, communication, physiology, sensors, transducers, medical instrumentation, MATLAB etc along with minor and major projects. As far as concerned, the subject is very suitable for research purposes as new equipment and techniques are always welcomed and essential in medical fields

Internships Opportunities

I'ld prefers the term training rather than the internship. As due to these short-term training (21 days) 90% of the students were placed before the final years with an annual package of minimum 2LPA.

Placement Experience

2

90% of the students were placed before final years with an annual package of minimum 2LPA. The companies rather institution included GD HOSPITAL AND DIABETES INSTITUTE, BPL MEDICAL, PHILIPS MEDICAL, NELLCOR, SODEXO TECHNICAL, TOSHIRO, DIVINE NURSING HOME, NEOTIA HOSPITAL ETC.

College Events

3

Events celebrated includes technical fests, international scientist meets, juice alumni meets, jisce idols, juice divas cultural fests, grand freshers, and not the least Convocation. As the name itself suggests "events" so it's always fun and whelming to attend.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the course is, of course, feasible as being one of the best private colleges in the area, the fees are not much as compared to other private engineering colleges. The fee structure includes- 87k at the time of admission including a fee of the semester along with caution money deposit. 44k at the end of each sem up to 4 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such scholarships are provided but meritorious students are taken to AIT-ASIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY- Bangkok every year

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio-equal:equal::boys:girls :p No Union/ politics Workshops- once every semester Rules for Fine of the amount in case of misbehaving leading to the resignation of students based on severity. But yes the bitter truth is none of the rules are actually followed when comes to departmental ratios and popularities

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel fee is 5k per month including food which includes special meals twice a week for both vegetarians and non- vegetarians. A meal including lunch, brunch/snack, and dinner. Grand meal is served at the end of every month, thus totally justifying the amount paid. The quality is average.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are always good & helpful as they have been through everything the next generation is going to face. The interaction and their support have helped to overcome many tough obstacles.

Exam Structure

None of the exams are chilling as be it a class test or semester, it will always create a pressure of securing good marks. The labs were great to attend as on hand experiments were only possible during those times. The technical fests were also great to participate.

Admission

Went to the college and showed my JEE Mains marks along with other credentials. The people at the office calculated the necessary marks and then the admission procedure started. As counseling was already over before my admission, so it took a little longer time for the form fill-up, data entries, and stuff

Faculty

3

The teachers are well qualified each holding at least masters or Ph.D. degrees. The interest, way, and approach of the teachers to teach a particular subject is what helped us to gain success in every stage of the interviews we faced. Yes, not all the teachers are equally good. But their involvement and appreciation is what made the difference

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
