Experience of college life

sit is very strict and discipline college. labs put so much strain on students you will get less time for doing something of your own. Yes, it produces a lot of placed students in software companies, BPUT toppers but it slowly kills their creativity. It still follows the classic methodology of teaching where all efforts are put on syllabus only. Also, one branch core subjects are taught to any other branch which is of no use now. The 4 years of my engineering life is the best phrase in my life. You will face many situations and learn how to deal with them, which get you wise and mature.

It is one of the best engineering colleges in Odisha. Academics wise it performs exceptionally well. many of my relatives praised this college for its environment and discipline. Also at that time, the placement of the college was very good. that's why I considered this college.

normally Sankalp Semiconductor Pvt Ltd, STL, access cloud etc. Has tie-up with the college for which you get good exposure to the industry but don't get a stipend. College also provides summer courses in different subjects by experts from different fields for which you also don't get any stipend.

Normally tech giant Infosys and Wipro take the maximum student in 1st a week of placement season. After that pool campus from Mindtree, Capgemini, cognizant, ADP etc come to college. You will get many no of software campus including startup company here. But very less core campus like Softonic, perfect VIP, Sankalp etc. Every year placement records are above 80% except 2018 due to market condition..you can refer www.silicon.ac.in for details.

You will not get great exposures that many great colleges in India have. still, there are many events celebrated in every year like tech fest, musical night, site student chapter,2-days cultural night, farewell, fresher party and many more. Also, it hosts volleyball tournament, basketball tournament, where many other colleges participate.

The Fee structure is 115000-160000 excluding hostel, Canteen every year. hostel fee is 36000 per annum. normally you have to give the whole amount at a time, but you can give 2-3 installation of the same amount by giving applications. canteen bill is 2.5-3k every month. But as it becomes autonomous, it may charge more.

It gives admission to poor meritorious students without charging tuition fees. every year 1 student of year and toppers of every branch get a scholarship.

You will feel school environment at sit.sit is zero tolerance of ragging. if anyone gets caught, he might be in trouble.gender ratio is very good. there are many students come from Bihar, Jharkhand,chhattisgarh.there are two badminton court, one basket ball court, one football/cricket ground, one volleyball court. Also, it has a gym, table tennis, carrom facility. Also every year 2-3 teams get selected for smart India Hackathon.you can also join the robotic club, which has a very good reputation.also you can join toastmaster, zeal, green club etc.

Hostel room is good and very hygienic. Normally 3 people will stay in every room. It has a cupboard, study table, chair, bed etc.sit doesn't have any ac hostel room.it provides light and fan only as electrical appliances. Basic medical facilities are provided. It also has laundry facility.it also provide 24*7 electricity and water Facility. Some time faculties inspect room at any time. There are two canteen...one for veg and another for non-veg.you will get 4-time in veg in a week.food are good especially during launch.you have to pay canteen charge at the end of the month on the basis of a number of meal.also it has a cafeteria, where you can have Chinese, south Indian dishes.

It has a broad alumni network as it is 15 yr old college....seniors are very helpful. You can ask for a guide for any of your doubts.

You will get minimum 3 labs a week and have daily viva in labs. Finally, at end of the semester, you will have a grand viva and lab test. You will have 2 internals every semester, whose mark get added to the final exam, and 1 final exam. Every academic year you will have 2 sem. Also at the project period, you will have 2 interims and one final presentation. Also, you will have one seminar at 6th or 7th sem.

After getting the result of jee pre, I applied for two colleges in ojee counselling process as per rule. I opted cet as first choice and silicon institute of technology(sit) as the second choice. I wasn't selected for cet due to less mark in jee. So I was selected for sit. Then I contacted with college academic administration and they explained me the fee structure and admission process. I got admission in sit on 1st August 2018.

All faculty are really helpful to students.many professors have done PhD. Many assistant professors are doing PhD. Many faculties are engaged in research in the field of renewable energy, VLSI, Android, power system in college. Lab attendant is a mixture of higher and average standard. But all of them a keen interest in interacting with the student.
