Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course as it is one with real life implications, the curriculum involves lots of practical experiments to go along with the theoretical knowledge, ensuring that whatever has been taught is applied in practice the same day. Exams are half yearly in a semester wise pattern, they are not very difficult if you have the basics of the topics cleared.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are not offered for this course, however a career conclave is organised every year and there is quite a good chance of getting employed in this field. After getting the degree I plan to go abroad for completing my master's degree then find employment.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no fee hike policy, the few stays fairly consistent over the years. The complete cost for completion of the course comes out around ?90000 including the tution for 6 semesters. Scholarships are available based on castes. There are no campus employment roles available.
Campus Life
Library has a nice selection of books which are freely available and can be issued by the library card provided to the students. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. Sporting activities like badminton, dancing, powerlifting and basketball are available in the college. There is a robust house system and NSS unit run by students, they provide some fun and meaningful opportunities for students to get into.
Admission
Cutoff for the course was around 70% marks in HSc board. Application form can be found on college website, applications close in late August -early July, and start at early August. Exams are in a half yearly manner in semester wise pattern, not too difficult if you know the fundamentals. Admission process could be better if the website was not too laggy.
Faculty
There are about 6 faculty for 25-30 students, some of the faculty members are very qualified with PhDs and are very knowledgeable, there are some who just cannot teach very well, very outdated teaching methods with reluctance to use modern teaching aids even as the old methods are ineffective. That being said the teachers are very approachable and are open to taking questions and doubts even after the lectures or after college hours.
