Remarks

I have only positives and praises for my college management

Entrance Preview

Because it was one of the best during my time and is the best college ever. My Jesuit upbringing from school continued in college which made me feel at home. The environment and infrastructure is awesome. I had options from Andrew's but I chose xaviers because of the standard and name it had then. The extra curricular facilities stood out more than any other college

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I don't think it was great as u was forced to study subscription that I didn't want to. I think with xaviers going autonomous they have done the right thing. The combination of subjects were not all that great but that was the case with all colleges run by Mumbai university.

Internships Opportunities

Yes they do provide stipend. Generally 2000 is what they get per month and the internship period is for 6 months.

Placement Experience

5

When I was in XIM, then, the placements were good as a lot of companies came to get candidates because of the reputation of the college. I finished my course in June but they completed the placements in June. I didn't avail of it as I was already working.

College Events

5

Malhar was one of the best events ever over 4 days. I've been in the aicuf which gave me exposure to alot of skills I never imagined I had. I used to be an introvert but xaviers gave me wings. We also had a hiking camp every alternate week during monsoons.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very feasible. Since it was a reputed college the fees was reasonable and it was spaced out over the year which didn't make it burdensome. Some concessions were given too since I took the catholic quota. But all in all it wasnt too expensive for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes I was given 2 scholarships for all round performance. So xaviers always encourages students who can't afford to take up further studies and takes ownership of the students who do well.

Campus Life

5

As I mentioned college life had a good balance between studies and play. I played hockey for college, as the president for aicuf and majored in physics. I managed all with a lot of passion. I learned music in college and how to party the right way too.

Hostel Facilities

5

The Mess food was awsome and economical especially the burji pav in the morning and the daal rice for lunch, chai n pakodas in the eve. I had never lived in the hostel so can't speak much but I loved the chapel they had in there. It gave me alot of peace and happiness.

Alumni/Alumna

They r brilliant. i have joined the network now and I keep meeting Xavierite all over and love to help them with a tip or two

Exam Structure

The structure was feasible and Good. Syllabus was completed on time so students had a lot of time to revise. I used to study with my friends in the library so it was fun. The professors were super helpful and encouraging. Not a lot of pressure then.

Admission

I got admission in the catholic quota which gave me a lot of boost. I had to fill a form and wait for the lists to be out. Admissions were on the same day the last was out where we had to stand in the line with our forms and fees. It was smooth. There were no online admissions then so the communication was clear n thorough and the time for the admission process was super quick.

Faculty

5

Excellent. They were the best and of high standards. They were humble, had alot of knowledge and encouraged extra curricular participation. There was never a dull day in college. I am who I am today because of them. They have given me confidence and direction

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
