Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

If you are someone who got a little low score in JEE and can't get the top NIT then Nit Srinagar must be a good choice for you to get a Nit tag and work a little more hard to get a good placement from here! The teachers in Ece are well qualified from good colleges so if you want to go for research then it will be good to consider Ece here. The curriculum is outdated just like many engineering colleges! They put a lot of focus on theoretical curriculum rather than teaching some real-world skills. Exams are conducted twice in a semester, quizzes are conducted weekly, etc.

Placement Experience

3

From the 7th sem onwards students become eligible to apply for on-campus placements. A lot of good companies also visit here including top MNCs, PSUs, etc. The highest package for the batch was 24 Lpa. On campus, by Samsung R&D. The Average package was around 7 Lpa. Around 40-50% got the placement overall, with CSE and IT being on the top. I will be preparing for higher studies through the gate, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is economical, if you come from an economically weaker household you can get upto a 100% fee waiver here! It depends upon the annual income of your household. For example, if your household income is less than 1 Lakh then your semester fee will be around 3200 rupees which is very good in my opinion. Another thing is that if your family income is greater than 5 lakhs your fees will be around 65000-70000 per semester but which you can get back after getting a scholarship. I opted for higher studies but if in my class around 15% of students got placed with an average package of 9LPA.

Campus Life

2

The annual fest is called Techvaganza, which is held annually but for a few years, it only occurred 1 time! In 2024 it was not held. Technical fests also occur very less frequently, overall fests are not on the list of this college. Classrooms are well equipped with smart and digital boards. Sports and extracurricular activities are dead here, annual sports week only occurs 1 time in 4 years. Students are free to run any club or activity here but they don't get support from faculties etc.

Admission

To get admission here one must complete his 12th with above 75% and appear in JEE, then apply for Josaa or Csab counselling same as like other government engineering colleges. The reservations are 50% home state quota and 50% All india quota.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty-to-student ratio is good as a class has 100 students divided into 2 sections so students get a good chance to interact with faculties here. The faculties are from top IITs, and IISCs, NITs, qualified and professional in their respective field. Teachers put a lot of stress on assignments, class assessments, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
