Remarks

College life is always fun. A lot of improvements can be done. Increasing students' interaction with the industry. Research-oriented courseware development. Industry-specific- Job preparedness among students. Internships and training facilities should be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is traditional as it is for the most part of the country and needs much overhauling. Yet the course structure is relevant and at par and similar to what is being offered at all other universities. The course curriculum is not set by the college. It is by the university and largely it is the same all over the country. But for the betterment and benefit of the student's college should add on to the prescribed traditional course.

Placement Experience

3

Placement is fair. At my time through college used to attempt for an internship but most students are encouraged to arrange for the same on their own. Campus connect MoU wit Infosys. Earlier college was a training center for TCS East Zone training.

College Events

4.5

Prayukti- Annual Tech Fest, Riviera- Annual Cultural Fest, Nexus- Alumni meet, Phire-Dekha- Reunion, Annual Sports Meet, Inter-college Sports events, Inter-hostel or Inter- branch League: Cricket, Football, Badminton, Chess, TT, and various other cultural events, seminars, workshops, symposiums, keep on happening

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees vary for different categories like SC & STs. There are even Scholarships of various kinds. Some are college-sponsored some are state sponsored some are community specific.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got a Scholarship. IT was an MCM (Merit-Cum-Means) Scholarship. This gets evaluated every semester and 50-100% scholarship on the tuition fee is provided. I got a 50% scholarship 4 times and 100% scholarship 2 times.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is quite energetic and fun filled. Gender ration is quite good considering an engineering college. I would say 1:3 to 1:4 overall. It widely varies from branch to branch.

Alumni/Alumna

Was very week, almost nonexistent 7 years back. Now, being an alumnus myself I would say when Juniors contact us directly/ upon reference by faculties we try to help as far as possible.

Admission

After WBJEE ranks are allotted on the basis of merit. Then counseling is scheduled. Nowadays it is held online, wherein one has to enlist the colleges and preferred branch. It is prudent to go through previous years' opening and closing ranks for the stream and college of your choice so that one can fill near about get-able choices. Once any of the selected combinations is allotted to you as per the merit and choices filled by other candidates you are notified via e- noticeboard of the WBJEE. Then you need to visit the college or the allotted counseling center to deposit the due fees on the given date and you get an allotment certificate after that.

Faculty

3

Average to Better than Average. Some of the faculties are really very good. But you need to be focused about your studies your self. Attending the classes of Faculty regularly is also important. As all fingers are not alike all alike the same goes for the faculty here as well. But by and large, HIT has a good pool of faculty you can rely upon.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
