Lovely college with nice environment

I was not aware of any good college in Aerospace engineering but only IITs , they have very solid infrastructure with labs for wind tunnel testing with is otherwise very costly. There were still differences with college cariculam and industry standard.

We generally need to apply outside for oppertunity of internship , unlike it happens with placements. still IIT kharagpur invites few of the companies for internship and I was one the lucky once to get the internship in the same way in DRDO, ITR in balasore.

IIT Kgp has good placement records over the years and well most of the students gets placed , except a few among which there is heavy density of the students are those who wanted to go abroad and some of them are those who prefered higher education in india itself.

in 2010 the fee was 48000 per semester which included hostel and mesh fee along with the tution fee. college provides mcm scholarship of 62000 per year which was helpful. i was one of the batch toppers and got boeing scholar ship of 1 lakh and 20 thousand, this is available omly in aerospace engineering department.

campus is rich in greenery with around 21 hostels mixed of seniors and juniors , MMM is the only hostel where the only resedents are the frehsers. there is a lot of college activities like kshitij , sprong fest and Illumination(during depawli).

Hostel is well maintained till the time you are in second year you will need to stay with sharing basis. the room is shared between 3 members. food quality in hostle is good as well, you get oppertunity to monitor the serving once a month as far as i remember.

Qualification IIT JEE exams were the basis for admission and it is well known process of councelling that happens in multiple rounds. OBC has 27% reservation, and the exam is cunducted once per year. there might be some changes since 2010, as far as i know now there is mains and advance, instead of one exam earlier.

Faculty members are very excelent with enormus practical experience, they are very easily approachable. especially there is always a project guide for b.tech and m.tech projects. the approach toward teaching is mostly practical along with theoretical and programming/coding assignments.
