The college organizes an internship drive in the end of third or fourth year. The chances of getting an internship is very high and depends on the hardwork a person has done. The internship at third year is compulsary.

The placements at IIT, Kharagpur is one of its main aspects that interests student to take admission in this college. most of the students who pass out of this college receive a placement offer in top companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are numerous scholarships available to help the students in their studies but most of them are limited to students whose family income is less than 5 lakh rupees. Other government scholarship are also valid within the college. Also there are scholarships established by the alumni.
Campus Life
Indian Institute of Technology is also known for its vibrant social life. Inspite of being situated in a small town the campus is always buzzing with life. The college fest at this IIT is the largest fest in eastern india.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility provided is also very good. All the hostels present in Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur are spacious and have a mess which serves good food (mostly). Also the acommodation is not very far from the academic area.
Admission
I was admitted to the institute through the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), 2023. After qualification of the exam an authority namely JosAA is responsible for the seat allocation. The process for the same was very convinient as it is transparent and held online.
Faculty
The faculty members at Indian Institue of Technology, Kharagpur are very experienced and have many years of teaching experience. They are experts in their respective field. Most of the professors teaching here are alumni of top colleges in the country and have pursued higher education abroad.
