Remarks

I believe they were satisfactory. There are loopholes in every system and these things are necessary too. That’s what makes the students learn and grow in the end!

Entrance Preview

It was one of the seven autonomous institutions in Maharashtra at the time and I was able to pursue my favourite stream. More so, Pune is such a great place to live! Also, it was recommended by my seniors and college faculty. Everything just fell in place!

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum was subtle and sometimes challenging. However there was scope in many areas. It was not as broad as it is in the IITs but just about challenging. The exam pattern was versatile and it really tested every aspect of the students. However the degree of difficulty was not that high.

Internships Opportunities

The college does provide internships with small scale companies around Pune, stipend may vary from 10k to 20k per month.

Placement Experience

4

Placements were good, especially for IT sector and frankly average for chemical engineers. Though there was a good scope for higher studies in core streams. Off campus selections were also an option for students and pool campuses were also conducted with collaboration with other institutions.

College Events

4.5

Inter college festival called Melange, Intra college festival called Vishwakarandak, Days celebrations and all the traditional festivals. The major technical events were of world class quality and the institute used to flood with entries across all over the country. Sponsored event helped too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

A tad expensive, ranging from 80k per year for College and 60k per year for hostel. The amenities in the hostel though, were good. The fee structure was slightly expensive because the institute was private and not entirely government aided. But all was worth finally.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not avail any scholarships so I can’t elaborate on them. But I guess, there were plenty of options.

Campus Life

3.5

I guess 55-40-5 n favour of male candidates. The competitions were top notch and the institute always performed well in every extracurricular activity. The events especially the technical ones, were of world class level. Students were enthusiastic and the results took care of themselves.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel amenities were good and as a triviality, mess food was unhealthy and not very pleasant!! Students also preferred staying in private hostels or as paying guests in nearby areas to cut out costs. The surrounding area was good and affordable to everyone.

Alumni/Alumna

This is probably one area the institute should work on. Yes, there were groups and meetings here and there but collective efforts were needed.

Exam Structure

There used to be 4 patterns, Internal assignments, Online Midsemester exams, Viva and Final Written exams. And the projects, seminars to make up. Overall, the pattern was versatile and tested every aspect of the students’ capability to perform individually as well as in a team.

Admission

There used to be MHT-CET at that time. After this written entrance of maximum 200 marks, a COMMON ADMISSION PROCESS was followed and merit wise seats were allotted to the autonomous institutions in Maharashtra. Once the process was done and college was allotted, reporting was done.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty were always supportive and knowledgeable. They were punctual and always available for the students. More so, they always encouraged extracurricular activities. They were always helping people to carry out good projects and made sure they were given full access to labs.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
